Join us on a Belizean adventure to the little island of Ambergris Caye.

You're with your best friends. (that's us) You wake up to the sound of ocean waves, walk down to the beach in your pajamas and pour yourself a cup of coffee while breakfast is being served. When you're caffeinated you walk down the 300ft pier to the thatched roof palapa that sits just above the turquoise ocean. I'll lead a yoga class to start our day (you're welcome to participate) and after class we might jump off the palapa for a swim. The rest of our day might consist of snorkeling, reading in a hammock, an excursion to the Mayan ruins, or a short golf cart ride to (not so) Secret Beach. Every evening we'll enjoy a delicious meal together and afterwards you could join us for a relaxing Yoga Nidra Sound Bath, cacao ceremony, or out dancing in town.

You will leave this week with clear intentions for 2022, a group of new friends, and refreshed in heart, mind and soul.

This retreat helps us all embrace "Island time". You have permission to slow down, experience the healing qualities of the ocean, and immerse in a full culture exploration. Ak'bol (Maya for « Heart of the Village) is a beachfront oasis just a quarter mile from the second largest Barrier Reef in the world and a bike ride away from the old fishing village of San Pedro.

Please plan your travel so that you arrive at Ak’bol for the 6pm welcome dinner on Monday night!

We recommend booking your flights to Belize well in advance so that you may enjoy the best travel time and routes.

*Please note – Although it’s possible to arrange boat travel to the island we recommend taking the 15-minute flight from Belize City to Ambergris Caye. Ak'bol will reserve ALL Tropic air tickets for group directly from Belize City International Airport to San Pedro ($157.75US round-trip, per person.)

Ak’boL reserves the tickets so there is no waiting, and guests will pay for their tickets directly at check- in, before boarding the plane, with CC or cash.

Departure tax: there is an approximately $40 departure tax when leaving Belize City International airport on the way home. They would like US cash but CC accepted.

Plan for adventure! We must do our part to help conserve water on an island.

While daily housekeeping will tend to your space, bedding and towels are changed every other day, but hanging towels after using is recommended.

Everyone has sensitive septics on an island! Guests are asked to dispose of toilet paper in a garbage can, whenever able.

It was an extraordinary experience and wonderful week at Ak'bol. Yoga classes with Kimber-lee and Nicole who made this yoga retreat so unique, kindness of all who attended but also these who worked hard to make this staying so special. Food was served always fresh; on time. I loved beautiful grounds, fun cabanas; enormous iguanas;). Emilio and Kirstin were always on top of things, ready to make a suggestion or give an advice. It truly felt like a second home. Will definitely come back sometimes soon or recommend it to all who try to find balance, peace & a good energy. This place is simply perfect.

It was magical. Wonderful companions, now dear friends who spent week together. Adventures offered by the retreat center were wonderful. food was amazing! We will go back to Ak'Bol for sure!!
