About this trip

Join us as we celebrate New Year’s in Cuba and the Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution!

We will start in Havana, immerse ourselves in the beauty and energy of the city, spending our days meeting with Cuban professors, government officials, physicians, community activists, farmers, urban planners, journalists, and artists. Our evenings will be filled with concerts by renowned musicians, visits to artists’ studios, and performances by students of Cuba’s internationally acclaimed dance institutes. We’ll tour museums with art historians and wander through the markets of Old Havana. From there we we will make our way to cities such as Cojimar (Hemingway’s setting for Old Man and The Sea), Matanzas, and Varadero. We’ll stop in Cienfuegos, then on to Santa Clara and then back to Havana before heading back to the US.

Global Exchange Reality Tours
2 reviews
The idea that travel can be educational and positively influence international affairs motivated the first Reality Tour in 1988. Global Exchange’s Reality Tours are not designed to provide immediate solutions or remedies to the world’s most intractable problems, nor are they simply a kind of voyeurism. Rather, Reality Tours are meant to educate people about how we, individually and collectively, contribute to global problems, and, then, to suggest ways in which we can contribute to positive change locally and internationally.

We had a great time. We visited places and talked to people we never would have had access to without the tour. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would definitely go back.

The organizers worked very hard to have everything ready for us and take care of everything. We weren't given a few pieces of information, but overall, they gladly accommodated all our requests and were very nice.
