Arrival in the City of Sails: Auckland Adventure Begins

Begin your New Zealand adventure with a WineNot welcome in Auckland, known as the "City of Sails" for its beautiful harbors and maritime heritage. Upon arrival, enjoy a group airport transfer to Fable Auckland, an elegant 5-star boutique heritage hotel located in the heart of the city. The remainder of the day is yours to relax after your journey or begin exploring Auckland's vibrant waterfront, harbor district, shops, and cafés. This evening is at leisure as you settle into New Zealand and prepare for the exciting experiences ahead.

Auckland at Leisure & Welcome Dinner

Enjoy a relaxed day to explore Auckland at your own pace. Stroll along the waterfront, browse local shops and galleries, visit museums, or take in panoramic views from the iconic Sky Tower. Auckland consistently ranks among the world's most livable cities and offers a wonderful introduction to New Zealand's relaxed lifestyle, café culture, and harbor setting. This evening, gather with fellow travelers for our Welcome Dinner, featuring regional cuisine and New Zealand wines as we celebrate the beginning of our North Island adventure.

Waiheke Island Wine Discovery

Today we board a scenic ferry to Waiheke Island, often called the "Island of Wine." Located in the sparkling Hauraki Gulf, Waiheke is home to beautiful beaches, olive groves, and some of New Zealand's most respected boutique wineries. Accompanied by local host Cami Deery Cami Deery, we'll enjoy private winery visits, tastings, and a winery lunch while taking in breathtaking views of vineyards rolling toward the ocean. The island's relaxed atmosphere, spectacular scenery, and exceptional wines make this one of the highlights of the journey.

Glowworm Caves & Māori Traditions

Travel through New Zealand's rolling countryside to the famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, one of the country's most remarkable natural attractions. During a guided visit, glide silently through underground caverns illuminated by thousands of tiny glowworms, creating the appearance of a star-filled night sky. Continue to Rotorua and check into the Pullman Rotorua, a luxury 5-star hotel ideally located near the city's geothermal attractions. This evening, discover the rich traditions of New Zealand's indigenous people during the Te Pā Tū Māori Cultural Experience, featuring traditional welcomes, storytelling, music, cultural performances, and a feast inspired by centuries-old Māori customs.

Hobbiton & Redwoods Nightlights

Step into the world of Middle-earth during a guided visit to the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set, where scenes from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films were brought to life. Wander through Hobbit Holes, beautifully landscaped gardens, and enjoy a drink at the famous Green Dragon Inn. This evening, gather for a group dinner before experiencing the magical Redwoods Nightlights Walk, where illuminated suspension bridges and lanterns transform one of New Zealand's most impressive forests into a truly unforgettable nighttime experience.

Geothermal Wonders & Rotorua Views

Today we explore the dramatic geothermal landscapes that make Rotorua famous. Visit Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, home to colorful hot springs, bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and the famous Champagne Pool. Later, enjoy a gondola ride, wine tasting, and lunch at Volcanic Hills, overlooking Lake Rotorua and the surrounding volcanic landscape. The afternoon is free to explore Rotorua, visit local attractions, or relax at the renowned Polynesian Spa.

Lake Taupō Sailing Adventure

Travel through the volcanic heart of New Zealand, stopping at Huka Honey Hive to sample local honey products and learn about New Zealand's famous mānuka honey industry. Continue to the powerful Huka Falls, where crystal-clear water surges through a narrow canyon before plunging into the Waikato River. This afternoon, enjoy a sailing cruise on Lake Taupō, New Zealand's largest lake, to view the impressive Māori Rock Carvings that can only be seen from the water. Tonight, check into the Hilton Lake Taupō, a luxury 5-star lakeside hotel offering beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Journey to Hawke's Bay and the charming seaside city of Napier, internationally recognized for its remarkable Art Deco architecture. Today we explore one of New Zealand's premier wine regions. Enjoy a winery visit and tasting at Craggy Range, internationally recognized for its outstanding Chardonnay, Syrah, and Bordeaux-style wines, set beneath the dramatic slopes of Te Mata Peak. Continue to Brookfields Vineyards, Hawke's Bay's oldest boutique winery, for a relaxed wine-paired lunch and tasting. Throughout the day, you'll discover why Hawke's Bay has become one of the Southern Hemisphere's most respected wine destinations.

Art Deco Napier & Farewell Celebration

This morning, discover Napier's fascinating history during a guided Art Deco walking tour through one of the best-preserved Art Deco cities in the world. Later, visit coastal Elephant Hill Winery, known for its spectacular oceanfront setting and acclaimed wines. Enjoy a winery tasting followed by a memorable five-course farewell lunch overlooking vineyards and the Pacific Ocean. The afternoon and evening are free to relax, explore Napier's charming waterfront, or simply enjoy your final moments in beautiful Hawke's Bay.

After breakfast, enjoy a group transfer to Hawke's Bay Airport for your flight to Auckland and onward journey home. For those wishing to continue exploring New Zealand, optional post-tour extensions to Wellington and Martinborough wine country or Queenstown and the South Island are available.
