We had a wonderful trip, our guides were very conscientious. They took us to the Pululahua crater early in the morning before the clouds moved in. The Middle of the World experience was exceptional. Definitely worth it.

Diego was a fabulous guide. He was very personable and full of information. He drove us to the Pululahua crater, the Mitad del Mundo, and the Teleferico. All day long he was considerate, friendly, and very helpful. He answered all our questions about these places, about Quito, about Ecuador's economy, and various other things in rich detail and in perfect English. We were absolutely delighted with the whole experience.

We travelled as a couple and booked a private tour to Mindo(private as we had a particular day that we could do a tour, but the group tour for Mindo wasn't scheduled on this day). Have a private tour actually allowed us to choose the activities that we wanted to do. Our guide Marco was incredibly knowledgable and a very nice and interesting person, that gave something extra to our day, giving us a local's perspective. In the end, we chose to do a canopy tour (10-line zipline tour), tubing and a visit to see hummingbirds. The canopy tour was good, albeit a little rushed. Our zipline guide was very informative about the local flora and fauna, pointing out various orchid species along the way. The tubing was fun - the water was a bit low, but we still managed our 1km of tubing down the river. Quite refreshing after ziplining! The last stop was recommended by our guide Marco; we asked what he recommended, and suggested a place with hummingbirds, but on the way back to Quito. We did this, visiting a family owned property-turned reserve and couldn't stop smiling with all the little hummingbirds flitting about. They also grow coffee and coffee plants for farmers on the property, so sampled some coffee and got a small bag as a souvenir. Thank you to CarpeDM tours for arranging this tour; they tried to advertise the tour to get a group rate, but no one else signed up. The prices are competitive, service, and communication all excellent.
