Nestled in a remote area of Sonoma, deep in the Redwood forest, a magical place exists that I want to share with you. I discovered it a few years ago while hiking on a private trail near Occidental. I turned a bend and to my amazement, yurts were being constructed around Redwood trees high above ground. I had seen nothing like it before, and I knew I must spend the night there. I'd love to bring you along.
This is a forest eco-retreat that will soothe the soul with serene landscapes and give you a deeper appreciation the natural world. You’ll admire the towering trees from their tippy tops and traverse the sky amongst bridges. We will forest bathe, meditate, practice breathing, do a little yoga, and partake in the awesome activities this place has to offer: 14 zip lines, walking along sky bridges, rappelling to the forest floor, and hiking with guides that will educate us about the Coastal Redwood eco-system.
What will make this event so unique is that we spend the night in the trees in cozy yurts that are wrapped around redwood trees — literally sleeping in the night sky. You will be immersed in the unparalleled beauty of the world famous California Coastal Redwoods.
Gourmet meals (dinner and breakfast) will be delivered to our treehouses. Any food restrictions can be observed, and you will have four choices of your main dish.
Yes, we will fit in some yoga: a gentle restorative yoga practice, breath work and meditation as we get up close and personal with some of the tallest and oldest living things. You’ll end your tour with a deeper appreciation for the forest and for our planet.
To secure your spot, a $250 non-refundable deposit is required with full payment due by May 15, 2023.
People signing up at this price point will be sharing this lovely yurt with other adventures. You will each have your own bed as there is a queen and a bunk beds. There is a separate room with a compost toilet. It also has a sink and table and chairs. The Yurts are new and nicely decorated.
Getting there takes about an hour or more from Marin. We will leave early (but not too early) and enjoy the stunning drive. Some drives are just an event in and of themselves. And this is one of them.
Pack yourself a picnic lunch.
