Are Egypt and Jordan safe:

YES. We have been going there since 1998. 2017 and 2018 just our family on our own with no guide. We take local taxis and get around on our own. Tour groups in 2019 and 2024, the first with many kids to Israel, Jordan and Egypt. Our last group in 2024 just after the Gaza conflict started - no one we encountered seemed to be very interested in it. Everyone there is just going about their lives. Tourism in Egypt is increasing every year with over 19 million visitors annually, 20 percent from the USA. We have taken groups into the West Bank and traveled into the West Bank on our own with our kids meeting only friendly people, great food and interesting sites. Jordan is a very educated literate Western oriented country with peace agreements with Israel and the US. The US has several bases there. This is a progressive western style Kingdom. Egypt is a wild, chaotic loud fun country with many Christian churches and synagogues. Both countries are secular and do not practice a conservative brand of Islam. Other cultures and religions are allowed. Egypt has a very strong tourist police and do not tolerate any nonsense with their number one industry - tourism. We have walked the streets of Cairo at night, with kids. I have never felt unsafe in either country.

Upon arrival and after you have cleared customs and immigration, transfer to Petra town hotel. Explore the small town, have dinner with the group and evening drinks at the Cave Bar.

Day 2: Petra- Petra Visit-Wadi Rum

After breakfast , enjoy An extraordinary day! This morning, we will take you on a tour into the breathtaking "rose-red" city Petra (by horseback and foot) which begins at the "Siq," a winding canyon road.  At the end of the passage you'll see Petra's most beautiful monument -- the Treasury -- carved out of the solid rock from the side of the mountain. Several hours on your own wandering the massive complex of ruins and temples.

Drive to Wadi Rum camp for dinner & overnight .

Arrive at the Sun City Mars Moonbase camp with authentic Bedouin tribe vibes, amazing food, local music under the stars surrounded by this strange landscape.

Day 3: Wadi Rum Tour

After breakfast , enjoy this morning to Wadi Rum,  a moonscape terrain of ancient river beds, wind-sculpted mountains, vast desert vistas and smooth, pastel-colored sands.  You will meet long skirted legionnaires offering cardamom-spiced coffee at the "Beau Geste" outpost.  Enjoy with 2 hours jeep tour at this oasis home to the films The Martian, Star Wars and Lawrence of Arabia.  A truly “out of this world” experience!  Then drive to Amman Airport for departure to Cairo.
