Welcome to the Bering Sea and historic Nome, Alaska! Guests arrive on the afternoon flight from Anchorage to Nome. You’ll settle in at the Aurora Inn, just steps from the Iconic Finish Line… the Burled Arch of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Morning at your leisure before we embark on the afternoon trip north.. To NOME! There are VERY limited options for dining in Nome… we will all be on a different schedule, wanting to see various teams and catching the action. Meals will NOT be group activities and everyone may choose for themselves what they would like to experience. If you are concerned about food allergies and sensitivities please plan accordingly. Options are limited. There is a small grocery store adjacent to St. Joe’s and we will have a selection of snacks and water. We will provide a list of options, including supporting local booster clubs at the Mini as they provide some lunch and dinner options. The Mini is the main Hub for activity during Iditarod. Upon arrival in Nome we will be transported to the Aurora Inn where we will be staying. After settling in for a short introduction to Nome and getting the lay of the land you are on your own to explore and we are here to help guide you.

Wheeled Luggage can be challenging on small planes - Duffels are ideal when traveling in remote Alaska. What to Expect + How to Prepare for Your Alaska Adventure
Our Alaska adventures are designed to immerse you in the landscape, the culture, and the spirit of the trail. Activities may include walking, dog mushing, cold temperatures, and small plane travel.
We recommend that guests arrive in good general health, with a reasonable level of physical fitness and no significant mobility limitations. Just as important as fitness is flexibility—Alaska is wild, and conditions can shift quickly. A positive, go-with-the-flow mindset will go a long way in making your experience unforgettable.
If you have any questions about whether a trip is the right fit, we’re always happy to connect and talk it through.
Packing for Alaska: Layers are Everything
Alaska style is casual, comfortable, and all about layering:
Base Layer: Thin, moisture-wicking (avoid cotton)
Mid Layer: Insulating (fleece or similar)
Outer Layer: Windproof and waterproof (Gore-Tex or similar)
For our Iditarod Tours we strongly recommend:
Down parka for added warmth
Insulated boots (Sorels, Mucks, or similar)
Warm hat, gloves, and neck gaiter
Extra socks (trust us on this one)
Travel tip:
A duffel bag or soft-sided luggage is best for Alaska travel, especially when flying on small planes. We recommend limiting to one piece of luggage for ease.
Weather + Itinerary Flexibility
In Alaska, travel plans—especially flights—can change quickly due to weather. Wind, snow, fog, and cold are all part of the adventure.
Flight delays or cancellations are not uncommon
Flexibility is essential—sometimes the best plan is to pause, take it in, and enjoy where you are
We highly recommend building buffer days into your overall travel schedule, as we are not responsible for missed onward connections due to weather-related delays.
Travel Insurance (Strongly Recommended)
All of our trips are prepaid, and Alaska conditions can be unpredictable.
We strongly encourage purchasing comprehensive travel insurance, which may include:
Trip interruption or delay coverage
Emergency medical and evacuation
Baggage and personal belongings protection
Please note:
Activities—especially fly-out experiences—may be canceled due to weather or conditions beyond our control
No refunds or cost adjustments are provided for weather-related changes or cancellations
Alaska rewards those who come prepared, stay flexible, and lean into the adventure. Layer up, pack smart, and bring a spirit of curiosity—we’ll take care of the rest.
$ 7,500.00 per person (double occupancy)
+$1,500.00 single supplement (based on availability)

Step into the soul of the Iditarod at the edge of the trail. This Nome Finish Package offers unparalleled access to the final chapter of Alaska’s most legendary race—where the dogs, mushers, volunteers, and community converge beneath the Burled Arch.
Designed for true insiders, this experience blends behind-the-scenes access, guided exploration, and once-in-a-lifetime race moments, all while embracing the beautifully unpredictable rhythm known as Iditarod Time.
❄️ A Note on Iditarod Time
Alaska—and the Iditarod—move to a rhythm all their own.
If you listen closely, you’ll hear nothing and everything at once:
the dogs arriving down the trail,
the wind off the Bering Sea,
the quiet hum of volunteers,
even the snow telling its own story.
Weather shifts. Plans evolve. Time bends.
In Nome during the Iditarod, watches are forgotten, phones become cameras until the batteries surrender to the cold, and the days blur together in the most beautiful way. This is Iditarod Time—a place where the unexpected becomes unforgettable.
We’ve outlined a thoughtful framework for your journey. Changes may—and often do—happen. We encourage you to embrace the unknown, just like the rookie mushers heading out on their very first Iditarod.
Many say the trail changes you forever in ways you can’t quite explain.
This experience is just that—a once-in-a-lifetime collection of moments that unfold exactly as they’re meant to.
We look forward to welcoming you to Nome and sharing the magic of the finish line with you.
Secure your place at the finish line of history.
Opportunities like this are extraordinarily limited and cannot be replicated.
When the dogs reach Nome, you’ll be there—on Iditarod Time.
We invite you to step fully into that world.
Mush On,
kQ
