Normandy 6 Day Tour June 26 - July 2, 2023

Our first experience with TRIPSUSAFRANCE was terrific. We especially enjoyed being based in a huge hotel room and not having to re-pack every day or two. Fabulous food, and the group size was perfect. Our guide Jonathan was delightful.

Wonderful local guide was very knowledgeable and personable.  Learned a great deal about the history of Normandy, it’s people and the country of France in general.  Beautiful scenery,  excellent food and fond memories of new friendships. 

Top ratings  for every aspect of this trip! The hotel, the town, our tour guides, the variety of excursions - everything was well-planned and all went as smoothly as possible. I will recommend this trip to anyone who is thinking of coming to southern France.

We had a fantastic time! Our guides were truly outstanding and the schedule could not have been more perfect. Every destination was a delight. Even the weather and our fellow travelers were terrific. I have no complaints!

We had a great time with Stephane and Isabelle. We enjoyed the activities and great lunches.  Almost too much food, but very nice restaurants that added to the experiences.  Learned a great deal of history and “must-see” places.  We enjoyed the special tours of the bull farm, Roquefort cheese, and the oyster farm.  
The typical barbecue was not the best meal.  Meat was overdone.
Thankfully we had a good group of people to enjoy on the long drives.  Stephane is a great driver and a special person with many talents.  Isabelle certainly kept us well informed with her talks.

This tour of southern France was absolutely wonderful! A huge thank you to Isabelle and Stephan for making this a very special experience every day of our trip.  There is so much that I could say - but I will be brief and tell anyone that is thinking of taking this trip - DO IT!  The towns we visited were well chosen - quaint, historical and lovely.  The daily group restaurant meals were fantastic.  Very French and always delicious.  Our hotel for the trip was very nice and in a great location for our daily excursions.  The local guides filled us with their knowledge of each place we visited.  We were all impressed with how well run the tours were, a testament to great planning by Julia and everyone at Trip USA France.  We feel so lucky to have had this experience with so many wonderful people to help us get to know and enjoy France and it's people.  Thanks for all the good times!   

It would be hard to find anything to criticize about this trip.  Everything was better than we anticipated.  Stephan and Isabelle were fun and knowledgeable.  It was apparent that a lot of time and energy went into the planning of this trip.  We went to places that were off the beaten path and experienced a bit of French life that would not have been possible with a larger group.  And we made new friends!  Fourteen is a perfect size for a group tour.

We very much enjoyed this tour.  A lot packed into 9 days.  We had a great small group, and Isabelle and Stephane were fantastic.  The accommodations were very comfortable with very tasty breakfasts.  A great exposure to Southern France.

Wonderful trip, lots of varied activities and excursions, everything extremely well organized and well planned. Tour directors knows the area very well and shared a lot about our surroundings. Great meals at beautiful restaurants. Hotel was super clean and comfortable with very accommodating owner and staff. I had a great time as a solo traveler!

Had a great time.  The food was great, Jonathon was fantastic and so was Vincent.  The only issue I had was the farewell dinner.  The restaurant was not ready for us and after along day maybe should be a farewell lunch instead.

Best trip ever!  
I don't think that there are words of praise superlative enough in the English language to describe the wonderful experiences we had on this trip.  It was magnifique!  We have traveled extensively for many years and have had many excellent trips, but this one surpassed them all.  
Owners Jerome and Katy at Hotel les Coquilles welcomed us warmly and created an atmosphere that was casual and relaxed.  Rooms were spacious and clean, and the many options at breakfast were fresh and generous. 
Julia and her father Stephane were the perfect hosts, guides and drivers.  Julia's mom prepared a delicious dinner for the group which we all enjoyed.  We felt like we were members of the family, but we were treated like royalty.  We even learned how to play Pétanque!
Yes, we visitied famous sites like The Pont du Gard, Avignon's Palais des Papes and Arles' Roman Amphitheater, but each day held a secret surprise including a tour and tasting at an Oyster Farm, lunch at the Roquefort Cheese Caves where we were the only Americans in the restaurant, a visit to a vermouth distillery, and a fabulous afternoon and barbecue at a ranch in the Camargue.  These were once-in-a-lifetime experiences and we are so grateful to Julia and her family for sharing their beautiful part of the world with us.

We had an excellent trip.  Our guide was amazing and was so well prepared with pix and stories about the area.  The accommodations were just right, located almost in the center of Normandy.  St Micheal was beyond belief.  A hidden jewel for those of us who had no idea.  Our bus driver was top notch.  A great driver who knew alternate routes as we did avert an accident coming back to Paris.this is a must do trip. 

The tour is a great experience. Many of the sites visited are off the beaten path and varied.  All the guides were wonderful; very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The hotel was comfortable; a perfect location, within easy walking distance for restaurants, bakery or grocery store. The included lunches and dinners were delicious. There were choices for every taste or diet restriction and often large portions. Julia and Stephano were very personable and after a few days it felt like we had known them forever. Very gracious and accomodating. If looking for a unique, small group experience I would highly recommend you give USA/France a try.

Julie and her parents made us feel like family. The accommodations were very good and the hotel staff was extra attentive. The tours were very informative and immersive into the Provance culture and customs. We have traveled extensively and were looking for an excellent land based tour with a single hotel as base (no daily unpacking and packing of bags at different hotels) and with immersive experience in a region of France, and this was it!! It was better than expected, and what made it extra memorable was the personal attentions from Julia and her family!
We highly recommend it!

We highly recommend this trip!  It was great to check into the hotel, unpack our bags and spend the next nine days exploring the area with a true local family.  Julia was highly organized, and everything ran smoothly.  Even when the weather forced a change to the schedule, it was seamless to us.  If you want to explore the Occitanie/Languedoc region, this is a great way to do it.  We were exposed to small historic towns, beautiful sites, two vineyards, and much more.  We saw how vermouth is made, oysters are harvested and how bulls are humanly treated while being trained by French cowboys to run the Course Camarguaise.   We enjoyed the small group of 14 that traveled the area in two comfortable vans.  We got to know each other well and made lasting friends with both the guests and our hosts.  If you are looking for something other than your typical tour, look no further.  You can't go wrong!

Outstanding!  Every day was a new adventure and we saw many many things that we would never have seen on our own.  Julia and Isabelle were tremendous.  There was sufficient free time to occasionally explore on our own.  We loved Palavas and our hotel;  nice breakfasts and the beach town has plenty of excellent restaurants close by for reasonable prices.  Epic trip for us.

We enjoyed this tour very much. Julia and Isabel were great tour guides. We signed up because the places to visit were all places we wanted to see. The best was the Camargue ranch, but several others were also very special. We especially liked staying in one hotel and doing day trips. The drive times were usually less than an hour and the hotel was in a wonderful location. The provided meals were excellent, especially the orange cake baked by Julia's mother! The local guides were very good and people were all friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the time with Julia's father Stephan who joked around with us and played guitar and led us in several French and English songs. I have only two caveats: First, it helps immensely to get around on your own when you are not with Julia if you speak French. Fortunately my wife is fluent, so we did okay.  Second, if you are mobility impaired you may not be able to enjoy the walking tours of several places. Julia was as accommodating as possible, but she can not take you some places in the van. You must be able to walk several hundred meters up and down hills on cobble-stoned streets to tour inside some of the towns. That said, there is still much to enjoy including special places that require only limited walking with rest stops such as the Roquefort cheese caves. And did I say that we really like Julia!

Great vacation package. Well informed local guides, varied excursions and comfortable accommodations.

This was terrific!  We looked forward to each day, as it was different from the day before.  It was wonderful to be able to see so much of the South of France and not have to unpack and repack every single day.  The small group experience was fantastic.  We highly recommend.

Signature 9 Day South of France Tour Sept 27th - Oct 6th, 2022

The tour of southern France with TripUSAFrance was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had.   I have taken many trips to Europe but always avoided tours.   This was my first.  But it was more like traveling with a large group of friends (13 of us) because the owner and tour guide (Julia) and her parents went out of their way to create a highly personalized experience.

Our base town of Palavas-Les-Flots was a picturesque and easily walkable fishing village on the Mediterranean.   Shops, cafes and restaurants lined the canals traversing the town, just a few blocks from our hotel.  So there was plenty to do when we had downtime…

We saw more amazing sites in 9 days than I could ever have done on my own … and yet the tour did not feel rushed.  The outdoor scenery in this part of France was visually stunning, particularly the mountain views from medieval hilltop villages like Les Baux and St. Guilhem-Le-Desert, as well as the gorgeous river valley surrounding the Pont de Gard.   

Among the many highlights was the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Carcassone, the largest medieval fortress remaining in Europe today.  It still houses a small city.  We spent an entire day here, enjoying a fascinating (and funny) tour led by an expert guide, eating a leisurely group lunch, and having loads of fun shopping for unique gifts and memorabilia.  

At a local winery one day, Julia’s mother prepared exquisite delicacies — such as mini quiches and tiny croissants of cheese and meats —to create a gourmet picnic for the group.  After lunch, Julia’s father treated us to French and American songs on his guitar, with written lyrics passed out to the group so we could all sing along.  We were also treated to  a winery tour and tasting, after which we played four fiercely competitive games of Petangue.… although I have no idea who won.  😂 🤣

Great fun for all … and an example of the uniquely personalized nature of this tour.  Definitely a five-star experience.




      While researching an itinerary for a trip to southern France, I happened upon the TripUSAFrance site.It sounded too good to be true so I called the company. All my questions were thoroughly answered and I was reassured by the fact that they had repeat customers. Nothing for me to do but book the travel to and from Montpellier and enjoy the anticipation of the trip. We took a chance and the trip far exceeded our expectations.
     From our pick up at the airport to our drop off at the train station, Julia and her father Stephane anticipated our every need.
     Hôtel les Coquilles in Palavas was charming and comfortable. Our hosts Kathi and Jerome were delightful and very helpful. We could see the Mediterranean from our balcony and enjoyed walks along the beach and through town.
     Each day the van rides to our destinations provided us an opportunity to observe the countryside and get to know our fellow travelers who were also appreciative of the small tour experience.
     We enjoyed all of our explorations of the region from Roman ruins to small hillside villages to larger cities. The activities that we would not have included had we planned our own itinerary made the trip special. We loved the trip to the Carmargue ranch and the introduction to the bulls, the Roquefort cave and the lumières show in the quarry, the very unique  restaurants, and most especially the picnic at the winery with food prepared by Cathy, Julia’s mother and entertainment by Stephane. Meeting their friend, playing pétanque, and touring the vineyard was icing on the cake.
     Julia is a great guide who gives just enough history and background to give you appreciation of the area but not overwhelm you with facts. We now can’t imagine a tour without Julia and her family. We definitely will plan on one of her other tours in France.
     



Lovely trip.  Well organized.  Lots of fabulous food and wine.  Trips to Roquefort and Les Baux de Provence were highlights.  But it is hard to pick what was best.  The hotel, in Palavas , on the beach is a great base of operations.  Tour operators are friendly, informative and flexible.

Wonderful trip!  We met wonderful people, ate delicious food, and traveled to great locations!  Julia and Stephane make you feel like long lost family.  It was a terrific trip and I would definitely do it again.

This trip was like traveling with a local friend who takes you to their favorite historical sights, wineries and restaurants! Julia and her father Stephane are the perfect hosts! They’re fun and full of energy and laughs! You learn along the way — with Julia or a local expert guide. 

No name tags so it was again like a family traveling together not a tour group. Julia accommodated every special meal request and always had a smile! 

The restaurant and wineries featured very tasty locals dishes and wines. I wish I could have returned home to enjoy them!

Every day was a new adventure. I had previously visited France with a large tour company and this experience was so much more intimate. I experienced new things that wouldn’t have been possible with a large group. Such as the afternoon picnic at a winery with tasty dishes that Julia’s mom made, sing-alongs and games of pétanque! Or the visit to a traditional Camargue ranch with herding demonstrations, a barbecue dinner and a bowling-like game! 

Plenty of free evenings to explore Palavas for dinner, walks on the beach or simply sitting on my balcony with a charcuterie plate with fresh bread from the bakery and cheese and meat from the market down the street, along with a nice bottle of wine from the Hotel Coquilles wine shop! 

Speaking of Hotel Coquilles…it is a CUTE boutique hotel with a wine bar and shop owned by Kathi and Gerard! They are incredibly nice and accommodating! My room with a balcony was so clean and had a perfect view of the Mediterranean! 
It great fun being with Julia, Stephane, Kathi, Gerard, and all of the hosts and guides…as well as sometimes learning each other’s languages/slang and pronunciations! 

I hope to take another with TripUSAFrance and will definitely share the great time with friends and family! 



I had a very good time. Really good food and wine. I really like  the hotel accommodations. The other traveller's were very good. Bordeaux is a neat town. A lot of new experiences. (Food, tram) 

9 Day Bordeaux & Dordogne Tour September 15th to September 24th

We had a great time.  Jonathan was the BEST guide - patient, calm, knowledgeable.  Accommodations were lovely, especially in Bayeaux, even though some might not say so (!)  We would certainly recommend this trip to anyone.

Signature 9 Day South of France Tour August 30th - Sept 8th, 2022

An unforgettable trip—perfect in every way: fabulous sites, activities and meals. The wine-tasting and education was terrific! Bordeaux is a gem—not to be missed. As a guide, Julia is a meticulous planner and a whirlwind. She is attentive to the needs and preferences of the participants and creates a fun atmosphere, as well. 

The places that we visited were very interesting and the restaurant choices were excellent.  The main tour guide was nice, knowledgeable, and a real gentleman.  

Some of the hotels were not up to our expectations and there were a number of last-minute changes to the itinerary, plus a few disconnects.  I already provided separate feedback to Peter.

I was impressed with the knowledge of our guide, Jonathan, in all aspects of the tour, not just his wide historical knowledge, but also his eagerness to familiarize us with the towns we visited as well as recommendations for dining on our free evenings. Our group was a great size and everyone was amenable making for a great atmosphere for learning and fun! 
Christophe was also impressive with his extensive D-Day knowledge. I enjoyed the personal references to people he has met and their connections to D-Day. 
I highly recommend this tour. The addition of a short stop at the German cemetery was a great contrast to the American cemetery and added to the experience. 
Every day of the eight day tour was worth the experience! Thank you. 

Enjoyed the experience very much.  The hotel was wonderful, the guides were great.  I value timeliness and everything ran very smoothly.  Nice variety of things to do from picnics to formal dinners and museums to ranches.  

It was a wonderful experience and felt like we were traveling with our best friends! We got to see so much and most of it at a local level which is the best. We can’t wait to do another tour with this group!

Not your typical trip - this was a really fun adventure! 

Our delightful guides Isabelle and Stephane took us to places such as the Camargue ranch and the wonderful picnic with (really fun!) French locals! That we'd never have found on our own - and watching the water jousting competition was an unexpected (and funny) bonus.  Our hosts at the hotel were also wonderful :).   The meals at each of the uniquely french rustic and refined restaurants were also delicious - and really good wines!

This tour was beyond my expectations!

This tour was fabulous. We visited so many interesting places-churches, chateaux, WW2 battlefields, etc. We ate at amazing restaurants and had a fantastic tour guide (Jonathan) who was so knowledgeable and friendly, and he certainly went out of his way to make our trip memorable.  The tour was well paced with activities and free time.  I would give this trip ten stars if I could!!

Normandy 8 Day Tour August 28th - September 5th, 2022

This Lavender trip was great. The pace and activities were right for our group. We had great meals and great wine to match. A little more time in Arles would have been appreciated, and Montpellier didn't have that much to show. Highlights included the French bullfights (where no bulls get hurt!), the Carrieres des Lumieres that puts you inside the artwork projected onto the walls, the medieval cities of Carcassonne and Avignon, and visiting the lavender farm and factory. 

We recommend this trip. It was well-planned, and well-executed, with something for everyone.

South of France Tour Lavender Special July 5th - July 14th, 2022

Julia was an excellent guide and we were made to feel like family. All of the details were taken care of so we could thoroughly enjoy and be immersed in the experience. All of the meals and accommodations were local and top notch.  Highly recommend this tour company.

South of France Tour Lavender Special July 12th - July 21st, 2022

The trip was exceptional in its entirety! Stephane, Isabelle, Julia & Mom & friends were really awesome! They took care of us well & made sure that we were always safe & comfortable.
I liked the picnic at the château the best; we got to eat Julia’s mom’s, Cathy’s cooking & experienced Provençal hospitality & friendship. Playing pétanque was a great team effort with a bit of competitive edge for some & I totally enjoyed the conviviality that came with it. We also got to see Stephane’s hidden talent: singing, playing guitar & composer to boot!!!
Stephane’s & Isabelle’s patience & compassion were top notch; 2 very kind hearted people who always had a smile on their faces😊. 
I am extremely grateful I got to visit the gorgeous hill towns with opportunities for   lavender & sunflower photo ops. And all the awesome food we enjoyed with the group, with the farewell dinner @ Villa Mazarin being the best…I couldn’t wait for the next TripUSAFrance adventure!

This was a fantastic time, even better than we imagined! Julia had everything planned to the minute. She was on top of things so we just enjoyed the wonderful food, the sights and camaraderie. Her slogan of travel like a local is so true. We did not feel like we were tourists. We felt like we belonged because everyone was so helpful and friendly. The picnic prepared by Julia’s mom was delicious and we always had fun with Stephan, Julia’s dad when he drove. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the food, the wine , the culture and the people of Provence!

This tour was extremely well-organized and  Stephane and Isabelle were both observant and caring to all of us who were tour participants.  The first evening, at that scrumptious tower dinner, they had learned about participants, and t heir   walking ability, and put it into practice from then on.  Because I  had low vision, Isabelle  helped me  with coin values and bought a few postcards in my place.  
I loved seeing old familiar sights from my years teaching French, and delightful new ones,  such as the Manade and those skilled horses and riders.

The picnic was a chance to taste  Cathy's hom-cooked food, that she had put her heart into, and we played boules.      

Each included meal, lunches and dinners was exquisite, and delicious!  ' Suculent '.
Stephane was a great driver, and problem solver, and company.  Learning of the labor slowdown on June 9,  he raced to get  3 participants to a train hurriedly scheduled, in order that they got to  PARIS  CDG

Every detail was taken care of, even to  receiving a card from the hotel, with the entry code written.  Handy if someone gets too far  from the hotel, and needs the address.

Stephane and Isabelle were so gracious to speak French with me, and I may have abused this a bit.
It was   difficult to leave Stephane and Cathy.
I will recommend  this 9 Day South of France Tour to friends and acquaintances.

So many memories of interesting excursions.  Wonderful trip leaders. 

This small group, 10 day tour of Southern France, was just what we were looking for.  We stayed in one place, lovely Palavas-les-Flots, and took day trips to all the highlights of Southern France during our 10 days. Our tour guides, Julia and Stephane, knew this region because they lived and grew up in this area.  Their attention to detail was excellent.  They had a schedule and you could count on it.  Everything from pick up time in the morning, to where we would be going during the day and when we would return in the evening. Each restaurant, guided tour, wine tasting, special event,  etc. was ready for us when we arrived.  We learned so much about the history of Southern France, while visiting as far as beautiful Carcassonne on the west to historic Avignon on the East and everything in between. By the end of the week, we had so many lovely new friends and of course we feel like part of Julia and Stephane’s family.  We would highly recommend TRIPUSA France.

The trip was fantastic and Julia did a great job showing us France. I would  highly recommend this trip . Go a day early and see Palavas and recover from jet lag.

We had an amazing time on this tour with Julia and Steph , the best tour guides I have run into.  The sites were breathtaking complimented by Julia's knowledge of the sites.  The  hotel LA Coquille in Palavas was great (thank you Kathy and Rachel.)  The food and wine delicious.   And the other members of the tour were 9 of the most interesting people to spend 9 days with.   As a former travel agent I would highly recommend   TripUSAFrance.
