AN AYURVEDIC, YIN YOGA & MEDITATION RETREAT
So frequently we are compressed into a mode of Doing that we forget what BEing true joy and satisfaction feels like! Life’s ups, downs, transitions and busyness can cause stress overload, social and personal anxiety, relationship breakdowns, poor food choices, dulled energy and an inability to create new, healthy habits that stick! Join us for a 4-day/3night renewing journey to the legendary Ojo Caliente Hot Springs Resort in New Mexico! Here you will learn how to slow down and experience connection with yourself, nature and community and eat healthy foods that support your vitality, productivity and wellness! Here's a little taster video of what's to come!
In this retreat, you will learn your Ayurvedic Dosha (Energy constitution) and what foods best align with your body type. (More details below). Along with a daily yin yoga and meditation practice that will help you to relax, unwind and feel at peace, the revitalizing waters will cleanse, re-store and re-energize you! This a perfect retreat to experience with a loved one! (Couples, newly weds, friends, family members etc).
The profound effects of yoga, meditation, a nourishing & balanced diet, and spending time in high vibrational locations with community have proven to impact one’s life indefinitely by inspiring new habits, friendships, outlooks on life and reigniting ones' zest for life! Experiences that connect us with our Divine essence and nourish our body/mind/spirit help us to remember what genuine contentment, spaciousness and feeling connected to something greater than ourselves feels like. We essentially become happier people with a deepened capacity to handle life with more ease and grace.
As the age of Aquarius is inviting a deeper sense of community, teamwork, partnerships and union in all forms, a portion of this transformational journey is formatted to support connection & community through cohabiting and learning something new together! There is something extremely powerful when we connect with people in person, making eye contact and having true, human connection. New thoughts, ideas and understanding come through when we collaborate and sit in circle together. With that, lodging accommodations will be a shared home with shared rooms within walking distance of the soaking pools. (Private suites and rooms may be available for those seeking more privacy).
We aim to create a cohesive, yet spacious experience for personal unwinding, deep relaxation and an opportunity to share in a memorable journey with treasured new friends! This retreat will leave you feeling centered, connected and deeply nourished.
Ayurveda is the ancient Indian science of health. On day two we will be joined by a special guest from Annapurna's World Vegetarian Cafe (Annapurna is the Hindu deity/god of nourishment) who will be teaching us the ancient art of Ayurvedic cooking for the Doshas (Doshas are energy constitutions, aka: Mind/Body types that express unique blends of physical, emotional and and mental characteristics. The 3 Doshas ~ VATA, PITTA and KAPHA are derived from the 5 elements).
We will spend an afternoon learning how to prepare one of the most highly revered cleansing dishes in the yogic diet called Kitcheri. Participants will have the option of participating in SEVA (self-less service act) by helping to cook an Ayurvedic dish for our group dinner on the final evening of retreat in our shared kitchen.
Yinnovative YogaTM is a slow, therapeutic yoga style that aims to invite deep stillness and functional reorganization of the body/mind/spirit through surrender and acceptance. Various props are utilized to support & facilitate deep release of tension, stress, anxiety and outdated holding patterns. Poses are held between 1-5 minutes to allow for natural unwinding and to guide one's consciousness, breath, and awareness to their present experience without judgement or resistance. Acupressure and gentle bodywork techniques are used to promote the body’s natural healing potential as well as help induce a deeper state of relaxation and presence. No experience is necessary.
This practice is extremely beneficial for (but not limited to) those who experience one or more of the following: overwhelm, anxiety, over-active mind, depression, chronic stress, emotional distress, sleeping disorders, feeling disconnected, difficulty in 'letting go', body stiffness, joint and body pain, postural dysfunction, old injuries, range of motion limitations as well as those seeking more energy and balance in life, awakening their feminine nature and reinvigorating intuition.
