About this trip

When was the last time you gave yourself the gift of a mind, body and soul detox? Is it time to pause, step into the present moment and tap into the creative flow?

Join me on the journey of creative self discovery through writing, yoga and mindfulness in the pristine central mountains of Bali at Bali Ecostay.

Whether you are a published author, have an established writing practice or have always dreamed of writing but never gotten around to it, this retreat is suitable for anybody who believes in the transformative power of writing.

Give yourself the gift of a week of unlimited writing time, daily writing workshops, gentle morning yoga, guided meditations and deep relaxation to the ancient sounds of Himalayan Sound Bowls.

Bali Eco Stay is the perfect hideaway. We will have all five acres of the resort on the lush southern slopes of Mt Batukaru to ourselves. The resort is fed by crystal clear mountain streams, surrounded by tropical food forest and organic cascading rice paddies gently worked by the local community. The scrumptious organic food is prepared from ingredients harvested within walking distance of your plate in the resort's own permaculture gardens.

There are plenty of beautiful spaces where you can sneak away and be with yourself, go for a contemplative walk through the rice paddies and the food forest, sit by the waterfall or take a swim in the creek that winds through the property.

Imagine tuning into the sound of cascading waterfalls and the rhythm of nature punctuated by the gentle Balinese practices of spiritual worship. Your notebook and pen are scattered on the batik covers of the carved daybed. In front of you, organic rice paddies cascade all the way to where the horizon meets the sea.  You’ve lost track of time. You have given yourself over to the creative flow of writing and the stillness of mindfulness practices.

Sounds deliciously self-indulgent? Think of it as taking your soul to the spa. To feel truly happy and fulfilled, we need to bond with our creativity, make an appointment with our soul and nurture what sustains us.

REFUEL YOUR PASSION
7 Days/8 nights
This retreat is suitable for anybody who believes in the soul nourishing power of writing. Whether you have an established writing practice, are a published author working on a specific project, or whether you've always wanted to write but never had the time, this retreat is for you. There will be plenty of free writing time, guided writing exercises, workshops and feedback. The retreat is designed to nourish mind, body and soul. Feedback will be constructive and gentle and you have the option to share as much or as little of your writing as you wish. The retreat is fully catered and you'll be fed morning, lunch and dinner, plus morning and afternoon tea. All meals are prepared from organic vegetables grown in the property's permaculture gardens. It's some of the most exquisite food you'll ever taste. Every plate is a little still life, screaming to be photographed or sketched in word pictures. On our first morning we will go on a guided walk, exploring the vegetable gardens, the surrounding food forest and the local village so that you can get your bearings. Every day begins with gentle yoga and mindfulness meditation and ends with opportunities for after dinner chats that allow us to create crackling creative synergies.
