Maria Santoferraro, joy spreader, E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, storyteller, and always a practicing yoga student lives near the beautiful shores of Lake Erie, Ohio. After spending over 25 years as a stressed-out corporate executive she needed a detox from an unhealthy Blackberry addiction, lack of sleep, and an aching back caused by scoliosis. She sought out a healthier lifestyle and is grateful to have found her physical and spiritual release through the practice of yoga. Today she is living a balanced and blissful life, teaching beach yoga, leading international yoga retreats and yoga teacher trainings, providing inspiration on her blog the Daily Downward Dog, creating meditation videos for Hang 10 Meditation, and contributing her writing to Elephant Journal, Daily Cup of Yoga, and MindBodyGreen. Her playful, heart-opening teaching combines meditation, breath, alignment, and asana in slow-flowing vinyasa yoga classes that incorporate inspirational class themes, music, chanting, laughter,

What a wonderful day sharing the spring equinox energy. So much TLC with modifications and pampering for my daughter who was 8 months pregnant. The planning of activity flowed beautifully through out the day. Just a delight. Maria never disappoints! ✌🏼💞

A fabulous day, just what I needed. Maria is by far my favorite yoga instructor. Her empathy and skill work with practitioners of all skill levels. Her sense of fun is infectious. Can’t wait for the next one!

WOW! Best retreat ever!!! Maria you picked the perfect place in Greece. What a beautiful experience. I loved spending so much time outside with the other ladies, rocking it out in the yoga room and chanting in the Earth Temple. It is a trip that I will never forget. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to providing such a spiritual experience. My heart is filled with gratitude and love for you. Blessings. Light, love and peace. Debbie

This was our first international retreat with Maria. Overall We would say it was an extraordinary trip. The area (Tuscanny) and city ( Capannori) where we stayed were quiet and picturesque. The villa itself was well maintained with a skilled and attentive staff. The food and wine there was all you could expect of Tuscany - delicious and plentiful. The accommodations were very nice. Our room was large and modern, having just been renovated. The yoga was contemplative, and fulfilling - twice a day, if you were inclined. But there was no pressure to participate if you were not in the mood. Maria was an attentive yogi leader. The daily excursions and events at the villa were well planned and interesting, whether you like history, art, food or wine in any combination. And finally the other yogi's we traveled with were wonderful and inclusive. 5 out of 5
