Today, you'll head to Xochimilco, often referred to as the Venice of Mexico because of its loating gardens. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the last remnants of a vast water transport system built by the Aztecs. 

Then we'll dig into traditional cuisine for lunch aboard a trajinera, or  long boat, and float around the surrounding canals.

After breakfast you'll head to the neighborhood of Coyoacan, to visit Frida  Kahlo’s Casa Azul, one of the most treasured memories of this famous artist. You'll discover a more intimate view on Frida’s art, before having free time to walk around Coyocan’s beautiful center. 

Tonight you'll experience acrobatics, drama, and fighting at a traditional Mexican  “lucha libre” wrestling show. Where you can enjoy a festive atmosphere amid masks, entertainment, and incredible leaps and dives at the most visited ring in Mexico. We recommend you bring some cash for drinks and snacks.

After breakfast, you'll head to Coyotepec, a town known for its black clay pottery. Visit a local artisan's workshop to see how they work with black clay to create beautiful pieces of art. Stroll around the town to explore craft shops and perhaps purchase a unique piece as a souvenir. 

Next, you'll visit a workshop where you will learn about “alebrijes”, you will be immersed in the magical world of "tonas and nahuales" - spirit animals intricately carved and adorned with motifs from the Zapotec calendar. After completing the guided tour and understanding tonas and nahuales, you can participate in the  "Paint Your Nahual" workshop with a master painter.

In Oaxaca, participating in creating an ofrenda with a local family is a culturally enriching experience that offers insight into the traditions and customs of the region. You will learn about the symbolism behind the elements placed on the altar, such as candles, flowers, incense, photographs, and offerings.

Today you'll have free time to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and rich history of this  charming city. You'll have time to take an art class, go on a local tour, or spend the day by the pool. 

As night falls your way to one of the local cemeteries or pantheons where families  gather to celebrate the Day of the Dead. The first day of celebrations is called Día de los Inocentes, or Day of the Innocents. This is the day to remember children that have passed. It’s believed that spirits return at midnight on this day.

Witness the heartwarming children's celebration of the Day of the Dead, where families come together to honor and remember their departed young ones. You'll see colorful altars  adorned with toys, sweets, and mementos, as well as families sharing stories and memories.

In the evening, you'll head to one of the local cemeteries or pantheons in Oaxaca to witness the vibrant Day of the Dead celebrations. The atmosphere will be filled with flickering  candlelight, marigold flowers, and incense. You'll gain a deeper understanding of Mexican traditions and beliefs  surrounding death and the afterlife as you observe this meaningful and deeply spiritual celebration.
