You will be picked up from your hotel around 4 am and will head south of Cuzco on the road towards Puno. After travelling on the road for 2 hours approx., you will arrive at Cusipata and will detour towards the mountain in order to enjoy the natural scenery. On the road you will be able to see alpacas, llamas and natives from the area. After being on the road for an hour, you will arrive at Phullawasipata (4626 meters) where you will enjoy a box breakfast and then proceed to get ready to start the trek. You will first trek for about 1.5 to 2 hours upwards to the crest of the Red Valley. You will have two lookout points on route, from where you can appreciate the three mountains in the area, Hatun R’iti, Inca and Surimana, and the beautiful view of the Puka Cocha Lake, or Red Lake. You will then arrive to the peak which is 5038 meters, here you can observe the Red Valley as well as the Apu Ausangate. You will enjoy the view for about 30 minutes and then continue with the trek descending towards the Rainbow Mountain. Approximately 30 minutes later, you will arrive to the lookout point of the Vinicunca Mountain, or Rainbow Mountain. Once there, enjoy the amazing landscape and have some time to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. Afterwards, you will begin to descend towards the Khomer Cocha, or Green Lake. This trek will be more special since you will probably be the only one taking this route. The trek will last between 1.5 to 2 hours until you reach Phullawasipata. Here the transportation will be waiting for you and will take you to enjoy a well-deserved lunch before being transferred back to your hotel in Cuzco, where you will arrive somewhere between 3:30 pm and 5 pm.
