*Extensions may only be purchased with The Long package. They cannot be purchased with the Short Package. A minimum of 10 travelers is required for every extension. If this number isn’t reached, we will proceed with a full refund for the canceled add-on.  

 On top of the planned activities, we have selected a series of optional cultural, adventurous, and gastronomical experiences that you can choose to experience while in Colombia. You'll get to tailor your itinerary based on your interests and give your trip a personal touch!

🏨 Hotels in Medellín: Intercontinental, Estelar, Novotel or similar depending on the group final size.

Each package includes double accommodation with two people per room and complimentary breakfast. One month prior to the start of the trip, we will send you a link where you can choose your roommate.   

If you  wish to have a room just for yourself you can upgrade to a solo room at an extra price. This will guarantee you will not have a roommate throughout the trip. 

Accommodation for extensions:  

🏨 Amazon Rainforest: Accommodation will vary for this extension. Due to its remote characteristics, lodging will vary in each destination. Travelers will be required to share a room within each other. You will NOT be sharing a room with anyone external to the Wharton Colombia Trek 2024.  For more details, please check here for more details. 

🏨 Coffee Region:   By default, all packages include double accommodation (2 people per room) with breakfast included. Salento Real Hotel or similar depending on the group size. 

🏨 Bogota:  By default, all packages include double accommodation (2 people per room) with breakfast included. Hilton 72 or similar depending on the group size.

General Conditions:

Cancellations and Refunds

In the event of any cancellation of the reservation by the Traveler, the following general cancellation and refund conditions will apply, unless specific cancellation and refund rules or conditions are established in the respective Listing, which will apply only to the Wonder Service offered in that particular Listing. If a refund is due according to the terms specified below, Wonder will process the refund within thirty (30) calendar days following the date of cancellation.

Up to 60 Days Before the Trip: If you cancel your reservation 60 or more calendar days before the start date of the booked Wonder Service, Wonder will retain only a fee equivalent to USD $100 (or its equivalent in the applicable currency, applying the exchange rate on the day of the cancellation request). This fee will serve as credit for any future trip you wish to book with Wonder within the current calendar year. The remainder of the payments made for the cancelled trip will be refunded.

Between 59 and 50 Days Before the Trip: If you cancel your reservation between 59 and 50 calendar days before the start date of the booked Wonder Service, Wonder will retain a fee equivalent to USD $100 (or its equivalent in the applicable currency, applying the exchange rate on the day of the cancellation request), which will serve as credit for any future trip with Wonder within the current calendar year. Additionally, 50% of the remaining payments made for the cancelled trip will be refunded. No further refunds will be issued.

Less than 50 Days Before the Trip: If you cancel your reservation with less than 50 calendar days' notice before the start date of the booked Wonder Service, Wonder will retain a fee equivalent to USD $100 (or its equivalent in the applicable currency, applying the exchange rate on the day of the cancellation request), which will serve as credit for any future trip with Wonder within the current calendar year. No additional refunds will be provided.

This policy is subject to the Right of Withdrawal mentioned in section 3.3 of these Terms and Conditions. To initiate a cancellation and refund process, you must send an email to travelbuddygroups@wondertravel.co, no other channel of communication will be accepted for the process.

Transfer Your Booking:

Up to 30 Days Before the Trip: You may transfer your booking to another traveler provided that the transfer request is made at least 30 days before the trip. To initiate a transfer, you must send an email to travelbuddygroups@wondertravel.co, with a copy sent to the person to whom the transfer is being made. This is the sole method for processing booking transfers. No transfers or resale of the package will be accepted outside of this system and must be properly registered in the We Travel platform by Wonder Travel.

The new traveler must meet all participation requirements, including any necessary documentation or approvals, to ensure a smooth transition. If a person decides to purchase the package from another individual and makes payment directly to them, the transfer of the package will be invalid if it is not communicated to Wonder Travel via email within the specified timeframe and properly registered in the We Travel platform.

Wonder Travel reserves the right to determine the validity of a transfer based on the established parameters. Wonder Travel does not assume responsibility for, nor promotes, any external payments made in the course of reselling a Wonder Service by a third party.

Transfer or Cancellation of Additional Activities:

Up to 30 Days Before the Trip: Cancellation of additional activities will receive a full refund. You may also transfer additional activities to another traveler, provided the transfer request is made at least 30 days before the trip.

29 Days or Less Before the Trip: No refunds or transfers will be available for additional activities. This policy ensures that commitments made to activity providers are honored.

Cancellation Due to Force Majeure and Due Diligence

Definition of Force Majeure: Force Majeure refers to unforeseen events or circumstances beyond the control of either party that make it impossible or impractical to fulfill contractual obligations. In the context of travel, this includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, hurricanes), pandemics (e.g., COVID-19), strikes, curfews, mandatory lockdowns, or border closures imposed by authorities in Colombia, the United States, or any other relevant jurisdiction.

Due Diligence and Evidence Requirements: To claim a force majeure event, you must provide clear and substantial evidence that justifies your case. The following steps outline the required due diligence:

1. Notification: Send all information and evidence exclusively through the official email channel at travelbuddygroups@wondertravel.co. This is the only accepted method for submitting your claim.

2. Evidence: Provide comprehensive documentation supporting your claim, including:

• Official government or agency notices regarding the force majeure event.
• Reports or advisories from recognized sources such as meteorological services, health organizations, or travel advisory agencies.
• Any other relevant documents that substantiate the occurrence of the force majeure event and its impact on your travel plans.

3. Response Time: After receiving your claim, Wonder Travel may take up to 5 business days to review and assess the case through a contingency committee. Upon evaluation, we will provide you with the available options based on the validity of your justification.

Refunds and Adjustments:

• Before the Trip: If the trip is canceled due to a valid force majeure event, you will receive a full refund excluding a non-refundable service fee of USD $100.
• During the Trip: Should a force majeure event occur during the trip leading to a mandatory lockdown or border closures, a partial refund will be provided for any unoperated room nights and activities. This refund will be processed through WeTravel.com within 30 working days following the cancellation.

Wonder will not be obligated to refund any amount to the Traveler if, for reasons beyond Wonder's control, the Traveler does not arrive at the start location of the Wonder Service on time or arrives after the service has commenced (e.g., flight delays or losses, illness, road problems, or any other situation preventing timely arrival at the agreed meeting point). Wonder is also not obligated to refund the cost of any services included in the Wonder Service that were not utilized.

However, Wonder reserves the right to offer refunds at its discretion, though it is not required to do so, in cases of Traveler cancellation where refunds are otherwise not permitted, as outlined in sections 3.1.1. and 3.1.2., provided that the cancellation is due to force majeure reasons that are adequately substantiated. Such substantiation includes, but is not limited to:

• A medical certificate from the EPS (health care provider) or equivalent entity, or
• An official death certificate in the case of the Traveler’s death.

🚌 Shuttles to the Hotels will be offered upon arrival times at José María Cordova Airport (MDE) . Subject to # of pax.

The Wonder Travel staff will be present at the airport for your arrival and at the hotels 🏨 to assist with your check-in. You’ll need to register with us to ensure you have access to all the activities in the following days. 😉  

At night, it will be the perfect time to connect with the local culture: A Paisa Party that will give you a first glimpse of what Medellín and its people are all about. You’ll taste local drinks and food 🍹, in a night full of flowers🌸, music 🎶, and lots of dancing 💃. This will be a private event, exclusively for members of the Official Wharton Colombia Trek 2024.

Just 2.5 hours from Medellin, explore the majestic Peñol Rock 🪨 and the vibrant Guatapé Village ☂️. Immerse yourself in a landscape teeming with nature, vibrant colors, and friendly locals.

Savor a typical Paisa lunch with breathtaking views of the Laguna de Guatapé, accompanied by great music and cold beers. 🍻

As this is a full-day activity, you’ll have a free night to relax 😴, explore the local gastronomy 🍽️, or experience Medellin’s nightlife 🌙🎊. We’re here to offer the best recommendations, so don’t hesitate to ask!

 FROM ORGANIZED CRIME CRADLE TO A CULTURAL AND ART CENTER

During the 90's Comuna 13 was the cradle of most hitman and drug dealer operations lead by Medellin cartel. Today, this area has been recovered and is now a turistic 🧳 cultural  🎭 and art center 🎨.  Get ready to walk through Medellin streets and find some of the most iconic spots in the city. 📸 Top Instagram spots will be included in the tour 😉

 TIME FOR CITY # 2: CARTAGENA ✈️

Time to have a good breakfast, enjoy the last views of Medellin mountains and get ready for the beach!🏝️🌞

You will fly ✈️ to Cartagena and enjoy an afternoon full of different activities.

Take into account Check Out at the hotel is at 12:00 hrs and we will be leaving to the airport.
