Today is dedicated to Oktoberfest. After breakfast we transfer to the Teresienwiese Oktoberfest grounds for the day. We will have space reserved in one of the large beer tents. Spend the day eating, riding rides, singing German beer fest songs, and drinking beer!
Oktoberfest day 2 - After breakfast we transfer to the Teresienwiese Oktoberfest grounds for a another day of Oktoberfest. We will have a lunch reservation in one of the smaller venues today. After the group lunch, enjoy the evening with friends, or making new ones, on your own at the “Wies’n.”
Today we’re off to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s famous walled medieval city. Rothenburg is full of charm - half-timbered houses, fortified towers, a restored medieval city wall, and lots of great restaurants. Enjoy the town for the day - a must while in town is drinking a beer at Zur HölI - literally meaning “to hell” - a bar in a fabulous building built in 900 AD. In the evening we will meet to take the celebrated “Night Watchman Tour”. Perhaps after the tour we will go to hell for another beer.
After breakfast we transfer to Stuttgart, the city of Mercedes and Porsche. Upon arrival in Stuttgart, we will enjoy a visit to the Mercedes Museum, featuring dozens of historic cars. In the early afternoon we will make our way to the Cannstatter Volksfest for the opening day festivities beginning at 3:00pm. After the opening formalities, the beer tents open and the festivities begin. Spend the rest of the day at the Volksfest celebrating German culture, food and beer.
On the final day of the tour we will enjoy one last day of festivities at the Cannstatter Volksfest. Soak in one last day of “Gemütlichkeit” and revelry. We will have a group reservation in a large beer tent tonight.
Group Dinner Provided
Today we say “Auf wiedersehen”. After breakfast those flying out catch flights home from Stuttgart Airport (STR).
