OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

DAY 1: Pick up from the airport or residence and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, lying in a natural crater beneath Mount Kenya--this country's highest peak at 5,199 meters. We so appreciate this park's devotion to preserving endangered animals. Lunch will be provided for us at Sweetwater’s Serena tented Camp, where we will enjoy two nights in their tented-platform accommodations. That afternoon we will visit Nanyuki Spinners and weavers, a self-help program supporting the women and children of Nanyuki town, to learn wool processing weaving--an opportunity to purchase beautiful, one-of-a-kind table runners, placemats, and wearable art--nice gifts to take home. Our first game drive here will take place en route from the village.

DAY 2
DAY 2
OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

DAY 2: We leave early for a game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, taking in the beauty of Mount Kenya and visiting the Equator monument. After breakfast at the camp, we go to learn about the good works of Dr. Jane Goodall's chimpanzee rescue site, then return for lunch. In the afternoon you will meet the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world and hear about the efforts to save this, and other rhino species, from extinction. After our evening game drive, we can relax and watch the animals come to the watering hole just outside the dining room's windows, before retiring for the night.

DAY 3 : Early morning game drive at 0630hrs returning back to the camp at 0800hrs for breakfast. After breakfast leisure at the camp. Lunch at the camp before the evening game drive. After our evening game drive, we can relax and watch the animals come to the watering hole just outside the dining room's windows, before retiring for the night for dinner and overnight.
