Day 2 - Thursday, July 4

Arrive at Madrid. Pick up at MAD Airport by a LWT staff and private driver..

Make sure to get enough sleep during the flight because as soon as we are picked up at the airport by a private driver, we'll be transported to the meeting point for the Local Gourmet Tour.  We will start with a Spanish breakfast to have a bit of energy buzz! What a better way than a special treat of traditional chocolate & churros?  From there, no excuses to be tired now, we will explore the iconic Plaza Mayor and its area. Including a visit to San Miguel market, one of the first gourmet markets of Spain. We will get to see hidden gems, a convent from the XVI century where you can still today, buy homemade cookies from the nuns!  Then, we will head to La Latina neighborhood, an important area to understand better Madrid. We will stop for an organic olive oil & wine tasting in the grocery market of this neighborhood. We will learn about and see how the country has changed in the recent years through its food!  Then, it's time to explore El Rastro flea-market area and Lavapiés neighborhood. We will walk along it, including seeing some hidden gems no many people know about before ending in the Market of Anton Martin with a glass of cava and a tapa!  We will then end in the heart of Barrio de las Letras.

Afterwards, we will check in at our 5-bedroom apartment and relax from the jetlag.

In the evening, we will indulge in a real local tapas crawling journey. Over 3 hours we’ll be visiting 5 spots, including a market cuisine restaurant, a well-kwown ice-cold beer bar for locals, a new slow food tavern, and a one-century old bodega in a high quality and non-touristy tapas area, which madrileños love. We'll be able to see people from Madrid going out for real tapas. And we'll feel like one of them.  All the included spots are family-owned businesses. There's a lot of food on our tour (12-15 tapas servings), we recommend to make a light lunch!

Day 3 - Friday, July 5th

Unique Wine Tour of La Mancha and the Don Quixote windmills. Get ready to discover the land of Cervantes' famous novel and La Mancha region,  the largest surface of vineyard in the world. It is also one of the best áreas in Spain for growing grapes of good quality. Also, enjoy the fantastic castle of Belmonte and a stop at the UNESCO heritage site of Aranjuez.

In the evening, after a long day of wine drinking, we will welcome a personal Chef to our home and indulge in a 3-course meal.

Day 4 - Saturday, July 6th

Visit a totally unspoiled Spanish village and enjoy natural local produce in a spectacular environment.  Walk in the olive groves & along the River Tagus. Visit the planes of Spain. Explore the Moorish Castle with private castle cave visit  3 promises: 1) It´s impossible to experience these hidden treasures without us;  2) Be the only tourists in the village; 3) Have great memories of a truly authentic off the tourist track experience.

In the late afternoon, we will head to a local chef's home. To start we will be received with a local beer and a varied selection of gourmet olives to talk and get to know each other a little better at his beautiful terrace. After, we will start step by step to prepare our delicious paella from scratch using fresh ingredients from the market and explaining any doubts that may arise. While the paella is cooked we will enjoy a colorful table full of the most characteristic tapas of Spain, using first class products. We will talk a little about the raw material, the hallmark of Spanish cuisine and we will exchange stories and learnings. We will proceed to pair all these products with a spectacular wine from the Rivera del Duero in its fine glasses and stored in the cellar that we have and that we could visit at the end of the experience if you want to take some pictures in it. Paella's time is a time of sharing and learning among all of us in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Finally we will toast with a champagne sorbet observing the sunset.

KA
I had a wonderful time in Mexico City for Dia de Los Muertos. Vanessa did an amazing job organizing the trip, from beautiful lodging to fun activities. The food was AMAZING and tour guides very friendly and informative. We stayed in the neighborhood Coyocan, a great neighborhood for walking/sightseeing and fun and trendy things to do. We were fortunate enough to be very close to Coyocan Market where has everything you could possibly imagine. I'm looking forward to my next trip with Latino World Travelers.

In just a few days I got to experience Mexican culture, food, and history. The stay was comfortable. I definitely got out of my comfort zone going to Lucha Libre and cooking with a Cheff was awesome as well. Going to the Markets and museums and the amazing Frida Kahlo’s casa azul which was located only a few blocks away from where we were staying. The location where we were staying was also conveniently located to the market and there was so much to do and see. An experience of a lifetime, highly recommend it.
