Instead of a retreat consider this offering a remembering. We’ll spend a week in immersive exploration of the elements that animate our lives. Together we’ll investigate our relationship to earth, water, fire, air, and ether so we can experience our vastness in relation to all things. Nestled in the rainforest amidst the jungle, thermal pools, and cloud forest, the aim of this offering is to cultivate a connection with the natural world, decentre the human, get quiet enough to listen so we may give voice to the voiceless, and open ourselves to mystery. We’ll practice a blend of modalities to trust the intelligence of the body and our interconnected nature through kundalini, Katonah, meditation, Pilates, pranayam, sound, nidra, dancing, chanting, and journaling.
These teachings are shared in a way that intentionally work to poke, provoke, confront, and elevate so you build the capacity to commit to yourself and your integrity, to commit to stillness and deep listening, to commit to fearlessness and compassionate action so that you may trust what you know to be true.
Set on an 80 acre self-sufficient regenerative farm - Brave Earth - we’ll get our hands dirty to connect to fertile earth, we’ll visit a waterfall to feel the flow, we’ll sweat in a temazcal ceremony and hike a volcano to feed our fire. Expect sunrise sadhana + group process as we breathe the freshest air + howl with the monkeys halfway between Spring Equinox + Summer Solstice.
Krista Schilter (she/her) - a Gestaltist, horticultural therapist, writer, and creator of Golden Chain - will guide us through body-based practices from the Kundalini and Katonah yoga lineages, group process inspired by Gestalt psychotherapy, free writes and ways of expressing from her own creative process and nature-based-connection to filter our insights through the natural world.
Renelyn Quinicot (she/her) is a queer Filipina artist and movement and meditation guide, born and raised as a settler to Tkaronto. Through a relational-art practice, body-mind facilitation, and sound, she’ll encourage PLAY as an act of resilience, and an exploration of the body as a carrier of lineage and story.
