About this trip

Walk on middle of colors, fabrics, precious metals, wood handy-crafts and nice characters that give life to one of the most famous indigenous markets in Ecuador and South America.

The Otavalo Market still preserves its indigenous heritage. The natives with their local language will call your attention so that you do shopping in their stands. Bargain over the prices of the textiles or items you like and get a good discount.

See beautiful Andean landscapes. Visit the lagoon of the gods "Cuicocha Lake". Explore this magnificent eco-system full of plants, such as orquids, ferns and native trees.

Otavalo is one of the top tours in Ecuador. This is thanks to its ancient cultural heritage, enriched by traditions, myths, legends and customs. The beauty that surrounds Otavalo can be found in the mountains, volcanoes, lakes, waterfalls and rivers. Learn more about the Andean worldview.

Otavalo is located within the province of Imbabura. This province was declared a Geopark by the Unesco due to its large number of lakes and its magnificent geological formations, such as the Peguche waterfall.

Visit the Middle of the World by Cayambe town. Point out solstices and equinoxes, as well as the hours of the day, which are marked by the projection of the shadow of a large 10-meter-high pole that is located exactly in the center of this large circular platform.
