Silverton, CO
Only 45 minutes away, Silverton is the perfect day trip. Silverton has roots in mining at the turn of the 20th century, when the mountains were renown for high mineral content and Blair Street was known for its shady ladies. Now the mines are summer tourist attractions, the brothels are hotels, and the mountains are famous for massive amounts of snow. You can also board the famous Silverton-Durango old steam train. It takes about 4 hours to ride through the mountains, and you can go round trip, or get a quick bus shuttle back to Silverton.
Telluride, CO
Roughly one hour from Ouray, Telluride is a must see! Telluride is known for its world class skiing. From biking, skiing, to horseback riding, this mountain town has it all!
