Explore the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu with a private tour guide with departure from Ollantaytambo, in the Sacred Valley. Take an early train to Aguas Calientes and then a bus to Machu Picchu. About this trip

It was the most memorable family advevture. Definitely once in a lifetime experience… we are very pleased with Pie Experience. Very attentive, communicative responsive. Rodrigo, our guide was a really good as he kept us peaceful, he went along with our pace and really made it all about us. We appreciate that. The terrain is challenging, but not impossible so if you’re going to attempt even the one day little bit of training, especially step climbing, inclines are my recommendation.

With Pie Experiences we booked our whole 10 days trip to Peru, which included Lima, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Cusco, and Machu Picchu. Let me say this: the decision to go with Pie Experiences was the single most important and the best decision we’ve made when planning this trip. 

From the very beginning, Katherine and her team were amazing, helping and guiding us to create the best itinerary within the time that we had dedicated to this trip. It was our first trip to Peru, and we wanted to see the main attractions, not knowing what to expect. The itinerary that Katherine designed for us, allowed us to visit everything we wanted, and remain within our budget. At the same time, the proposed itinerary had better hotels and better arrangements than proposals from another agency. The hotels selected by Katherine were simply amazing, every time delivering way above the expectations! 

The trip was greatly planned and all segments were extremely tightly stitched together. In fact, we were joking that the itinerary reminded us of the Incan architecture where all stones are so greatly fit to other stones that you can’t even insert a sheet of paper between them. That was exactly that with our Pie Experiences: hotels, planes, tours, and transfers were planned to the minute, and we always knew what was happening next. 

We enjoyed our trip to Peru immensely: the country, the people, the history and the culture are astonishing. And don’t get me started on the food, that is simply amazing! We were able to enjoy all of that and soak in a part of Peru in us because the Pie Experiences team and Katherine were able to organize this trip for us. Now we can’t stop talking about going back and get more of that, and we will definitely be doing that with the help of Pie Experiences!

MAchu Picchu Full day with Inca trail entrances

An unforgettable trip. We spent a fabulous half day in the home of an indigenous family in Patabamba. We were greeted with a shower of flower petals, and a big hug, dressed in traditional clothing, and taken out into the countryside to gather herbs for dying wool. The family showed us how to spin, clean, dye and weave the wool. We watched as they made a delicious lunch called a Pachamanca by heating rocks and layering the food in between to cook. Afterwords, we went on to the ruins at Pisac and climbed to the top for magnificent views. Fabulous day, fabulous guide. Highly recommend.

Sacred Valley day trip & Weaving Experience | 1 day tour

This was the trip of a lifetime. Our guide, Juan, was encouraging, personable, knowledgeable, and a true professional. The one day hike was much more difficult than we had expected, but completely worth the challenge. As we emerged at the end of the trail and  saw our first view of Machu Picchu below, it practically brought me to tears with its majesty. If you are looking for an authentic experience, guides you can have a great confidence in, and a well organized travel agency you cannot do better than PIE EXPERIENCES.

My husband and I were in Peru for 12 days and used Pie Experiences for the private 1 day Inca Trail hike, Rainbow Mountain hike and car server/transfer to Puerto Maldonado.  Katherine from Pie Experiences is amazing.  She promptly answers any questions or concerns.  She is very easy to get in touch with via WhatsApp.  The One Day Inca trail hike is perfect for those who do not want to do a 4 day backpacking trip, but want to experience the Inca trail.  Rodrigo is a great guide - he is very friendly and knowledgeable.  We enjoyed the time we spent with him on the trail.  We were so lucky, that he was then assigned as our guide for Rainbow mountain.  The trip to Rainbow mountain is a long day of driving, but it is totally worth it for the views.  I was worried about the elevation, but our guide reminded us to take it slow and that was great advice!

I cannot say enough about Katherine - We were supposed to fly from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, but out flight was cancelled at 7:30pm the night before due to the Lima airport closure.  I messaged Katherine asking for help to find a driver to take us to Puerto Maldonado, since we already had a confirmed reservation at a jungle lodge for only 2 days.  Within about 20 minutes she was able to arrange for a driver to take us to our next destination!  Katherine truly saved our trip!  I also want to send a big THANK YOU to our driver Ivan, who drove us 8.5 hours over the crazy mountain roads to Puerto Maldonado in order to meet our guide for our jungle tour.  Once Ivan dropped us off, he had to make the return trip on his own.  Ivan was a very safe driver and we felt comfortable the entire trip.

We had the trip of a lifetime in Peru- Lima, Sacred Valley, Macchu Picchu, Cusco and an incredible trip to the Amazon. Katherine was over the top amazing in planning our trip, she was so responsive to our questions and even helped with many last minute changes we requested. We 100% recommend Pie experiences. Our trip to Peru was just perfect and we thank all the Peruvians we met who were, without exception, so kind and gracious.

This is one of the best and prettiest hikes I’ve done. It wasn’t too difficult either. Well worth it. Our guide Rodrigo was wonderful!! The box lunch exceeded expectations and the hotel was very nice.  Excellent.

This was a very difficult hike for me, but it was beautiful and worth it. The guide Alejandro was great and very patient while I dealt with altitude sickness/ dehydration.  Overall, highly recommend it, just be in shape and drink plenty of water.

Colca Canyon Trek | A Hiking Adventure in Peru | 3 days

This was an amazing experience and we highly recommend booking it!  Our guide Rodrigo was excellent and could not be nicer. He knew all the details of the trail and of Machu Picchu.   The pre-trip experience with Katherine was excellent too with great communication and lots of details shared.  

This was a fantastic trip. Pie Experiences was very accommodating to a variety of requests. We packed a lot in six days and felt cared for every step of the way. We had four different guides through out or week in Peru and all were exepctional. Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They were accommodating for custom requests as well. We always felt safe and travelled hundreds of miles with Pie. Use them whenever your in Peru or the surrounding countries. You will not be disappointed

This is a great way to experience Machu Picchu. The day hike was lovely and well within our teens' ability. Katherine at PIE Experiences was very responsive throughout. She made the whole experience seamless for us. We especially appreciated the relaxed nature of the hike and guided tour of the ruins on the Inka Trail when contrasted with the much more heavily trafficked site of Machu Picchu itself. Highly recommended.

A last minute call but Katherine from Pie experiences managed to make it work for our family of 5 despite the Covid restrictions - and our numerous constraints (Wifi, sporty challenges, domestic flights...) all was planned and organised from ticket purchased in advance to tour guides, activities set up at every spot we travelled.
Safe and sound we all enjoyed our outdoor experiences Peru has to offer from the classic Inca trail with the majesty of Machu picchu (for ourselves no one around!!!) to the beauty of Lago Titicaca staying at Titicacalogeperu  on the Uros islands, to the fab rain forest adventure at rio Madre de Dios in Amazonia as to the breathtaking Cordillera Blanca!!!

Tailor Made Trip - Fanny Brugier and family

I had a lovely experience. Enjoyed the Sacred Valley on the first day very much, and had a wonderful lunch along the way. Also enjoyed the visit to the jewellery store.
. Carlos , our tour guide was wonderful and got me safely delivered to the train,  late in the day,  for Machua Picchu .
Had a lovely comfortable stay in the small friendly hotel there.
Disappointed next day as started at Machua Picchau at 7 am and covered with fog. 
The tour guide that day, rushed me up and then down under 2hrs and then left me to myself. 
As the fog had then cleared, I  was very keen to then return to the top, but at 72yrs of age, 2 knee replacements and on my own was not possible. 
Overall a great experience.

Budget Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu - 2 days /1 night

Pie Experiences did an incredible job organizing everything for us--from purchasing the tickets to having the drivers and tour guides meet us where they said they would. We were never lost. Juan Carlos was our guide at Machu Picchu and he knew where all the great places were and the knowledge that he had about the Incas was told in such a manner that it was pure storytelling skills. We enjoyed the train ride to and from Ollantaytambo as the trains were very clean, comfortable, and luxurious. What we appreciated most was having our own private tour. We did not want to be large herd of cattle. Would highly recommend!

Henry was a fantastic guide! The hike and visit to Machu Picchu was an amazing experience. I couldn't imagine visiting Machu Picchu any other way. Feedback: we enjoyed the sack lunch but may a preferred a little more information to help guide our choices. PIE was helpful getting our luggage transferred from the Sacred Valley to Cusco. Couldn't have had a better experience.

2 Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu – Private service - Jared Nielsen X 4

This Hidden Inca trail to Machu Picchu is a fairly new program from Pie and therefore still a bit in development, but otherwise well arranged. Juan is a great guide with a good heart, respect for nature and Inca culture. He could tell nice stories and show us the most beautiful places. Although we found the hike a bit on the light side (after the Colca Canyon) and not entirely according to the agreed plan, we still enjoyed the total program enormously. In the near future, the Hidden Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, will certainly be a great one!!!

Our Colca Cayon experience was beyond great! Although the trek was quite strengeous, it was amazingly beautiful, so much fun and we were proud to make it to the bottom of the canyon on the first day and all the way up again the next. The views were beautiful, the accommodations were very good and special and good food was served. Our guide Marcelo was the best! He was really well educated and gave us information about both culture and nature of the area. 
For a not so young couple, as we are, the hike was really tough and we had muscle strain for a few days afterwards. But it was so worth it, what a great trek!

Outstanding personal service. Frediric, the manager of Pie Expeditions went above and beyond expectations to ensure that we had a memorable experience.  As an example we decided, at the last minute, to change our return from Machu Picchu and catch a later train. We let the Pie office now that we would not need to be picked up in Ollantantambo as Inca Rail would get us to Cusco. We were expecting to get a taxi from the train station to our hotel but when we arrived at 8 PM in a torrential rain storm Ferderic was waiting for us and personally took us to our hotel. The driver and guide provided for our 4 day tour were excellent. Pie customized a tour for us so that my wife could do a 1 day Machu Picchu Trail hike while I toured in the Sacred Valley and went on to Machu Picchu by train and bus.  The guide adapted the tours to accommodate me, as I was suffering from the altitude. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
