The next day we invite you for trekk to San Isidro, a walk next to the river in the middle of nothing (of everything). A day long walk along the condor and the summer sun, the stars at night wont let you forget this place.
It would be 8 km in 3 hours and we would cross 15 river crossings (on foot) before reaching our destination. San Isidro is a picturesque village in the department of Iruya that, like this one, seems to be suspended in the mountains. It is a place stopped in time, with no signal or internet connection but in full connection with nature and, of course, with oneself.
In addition to a tour of the village, a visit to the cemetery on the heights and a climb to the viewpoint, you can have lunch (not included) in one of the dining rooms and taste typical local food. Quinoa stew, empanadas salteñas, tamales and locro are some of the best options.
We promise you will get tired and wet, but also this trekk will make you feel alive and present, and thats something quite difficult to have in our modern society.
