About this trip

Embark on an epic journey into the heart of South America's wildlife paradise. Guided by the exceptional Antonio Tadeu Marques de Oliveira, whose seasoned expertise and vibrant spirit animate every step, this voyage transcends the ordinary. Experience nature's raw beauty and untamed wildlife in a thrilling encounter that promises not just sightings but profound connections with the majestic creatures of the Pantanal, including the mysterious Jaguar. Join us for an expedition that's more than a journey—it's a foray into the wild heart of the Pantanal, the greatest wildlife destination in South America.

Your Expedition Highlights:

  • Exclusive Encounters: Experience close-up sightings of the elusive 'Big Six' in their natural habitat: Jaguars, Giant River Otters, Giant Anteaters, Capybaras, South American Tapirs, and Anacondas.
  • Jaguar HotSpot: We spend more time than any other in Porto Jofre, the Jaguar HotSpot of the world! This allows us to guarantee wild jaguar sightings!
  • Superb Birdwatching: Amazing birdwatching from boats, walks, and safari-style excursions, including the impressive and endemic Hyacinth Macaws.
  • Renowned Expertise: Venture with Antonio Tadeu, a celebrated naturalist with a vibrant personality, whose intimate knowledge ensures enriching wildlife experiences.
  • Best Accommodations and Transport Available: In the northern Pantanal (the main expedition), we stay at three-star accommodations—the best that exists—and in the southern Pantanal, we use the finest accommodation, the award-winning Caiman Lodge, amidst the wild beauty of the Pantanal.
  • Intimate Experience: With a limit of just 12 participants, our expeditions offer a personal and immersive journey into the world's largest tropical wetland.
  • Amazing Extensions: To the upscale Caiman Lodge in the Southern Pantanal, Cristalino Lodge in the Brazilian Amazon, Iguazu Falls, and many more!

Morocco is an amazing country, and I can't imagine seeing it any other way than with New Paths. The combination of experienced and knowledgeable guides along with a small travel group meant that we had unique, wonderful experiences that other groups wouldn't be able to duplicate. The trip included big cities and "off the beaten path" locales along with spontaneous roadside stops when we passed something intriguing. Accommodations were lovely, food was delicious, company was delightful and the whole experience was memorable. This was my 6th trip with NPE, but most certainly not my last.

We saw the entire country from Fez to Marrakech, with the desert and the mountains and valleys in between. Great food, beautiful places to stay, cultural sites, lots of info and fun with friends. A truly wonderful experience. Thank you Jorge and NPE

It was a great trip. A little too many things crammed into one day. Leading to long days and short nights.. very exhausting. We saw some amazing things on our journey.

Wonderful trip! Beautiful accommodations. Jorge and his assistant, Josefina, were fabulous. In country guide, Indrajeet was great. Aside from the fabulous food and wildlife, Josefina was a delightful addition to our trip.

Jorge organized a great trip, and Indrajit was a fabulous educator and local guide. My wife and I took our adult son and his partner. He is a birder and saw over 100 new birds. She is an Asian scholar and museum curator. Both loved the trip. Personally, I liked the tigers, leopard, sloth bear, gaur, elephants and now know a lot more about birds. We recommend this trip.
