In the morning, your journey will lead you along the majestic "Avenida de los Volcanes" towards the Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the world's tallest active volcanoes.

Within the national park are 4 peaks over 4,000 m above sea level, including the best-known Cotopaxi "neck of the moon" volcano (5,897 m) with a symmetrical cone covered in snow. In its more than 32,000 hectares cohabit wild horses, llamas, foxes, deer, spectacled bears and the majestic condor.

Arriving at the entrance, you will need the services of a local guide with his vehicle (approximately 60 USD in cash for the complete service). Your driver will be waiting from you at the entrance to go back to Quito in the afternoon

Your journey begins with a visit to the Interpretation Center, offering insights into the rich history and geological wonders of the park, including its towering volcano. Following this, a leisurely stroll awaits around the picturesque Limpiopungo Lake, nestled at the base of the Rumiñahui volcano.

In the afternoon, you'll be transported to Mindo, a picturesque town nestled at 1,200 meters above sea level, where the breathtaking biodiversity of the cloud forest awaits.
