      About this trip

Few places on the globe evoke the mystery and awe that Patagonia provides for the intrepid traveler. The rugged crags and spires of mighty Torres del Paines and Los Glacieres National Parks constitute perhaps the most impressive mountain vistas on earth. Iguazu is arguably the world’s most impressive waterfall. Combine these with the cultural gems and Tango culture of Buenos Aires and one has a recipe for a memorable travel experience.

      Itinerary

      Patagonia
Patagonia + Buenos Aires + optional Iguazu Falls

Day 1  Buenos Aires    Bienvenidos! Welcome to Argentina!
      Welcome meeting & Dinner
We will have our usual get-acquainted meeting at about 5 pm, followed by an Asado dinner with an Argentine family.

      Day 2  Buenos Aires
      Tour Buenos Aires
Today we will explore Buenos Aires on a tour with a local guide. Highlights include the markets of San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Recoleta Cemetery, La Boca, and the ‘Caminito’ district. Your afternoon and evening are free for personal exploration. In the evening we will arrange and optional Tango show.

      Day 3  El Chalten
      Flight; Transfer to El Chalten
This morning we will be transferred to the National Airport for our flight to El Calafate (flight included).  From there we will enjoy a gorgeous scenic drive north to El Chalten, gateway to the magnificent Los Glacieres National Park. We will have dinner together this evening.

      Days 4  El Chalten
      Los Glacieres NP activities
We will enjoy an easy half-day hike in the stunning Los Glaciers region. Our goal is the stunningly situated Laguna Capri, with its spectacular views of Mount Fitz Roy, the signature peak of El Chalten. Free time options include hiking further toward the mighty Andes or additional outdoor activities like Lago Desierto, Lago Azul or Huemul Glacier hikes; boat rides on Lago Vidma; or horseback riding.

      Day 5  El Calafate
      Miradores los Condores
Our day begins with an optional early morning hike to nearby Miradores los Condores, for some sunrise photography and glowing golden alpenglow of the Los Glacieres peaks. Contemplating the panoramic views is a great way to say goodbye to El Chalten. Then we commence with the scenic drive to El Calafate where we will settle into our hotel. Dinner together.

      Day 6  El Calafate
      Perito Merino
Today we embark on a full day boat, hike, and bus excursion to 3 glaciers. We’ll view Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers and finish with iconic Perito Moreno. This massive river of ice terminates in an ice wall that is 3 miles wide, with an average height of 240 feet above the surface of the crystal blue water of Lake Argentino. Our local guide will explain the dynamics of glaciation and take us to all the best viewing locations.

      Day 7  Puerto Natales, Chile
      Estancia lunch
Today is primarily a travel day as we travel south along the Argentine/Chilean border to Puerto Natales. We’ll break up the drive with an Estancia (Gaucho ranch) visit for lunch. We’ll encounter a brief peak at the traditional ranch life that has provided the backbone of Argentine wealth and economy since the 19th century.

      Days 8 - 9 Puerto Natales
      Torre del Paine NP

Over these next two days we’ll make 2 day-long excursions to famed Torre del Paines National Park, crown jewel of Patagonia. We’ll intersperse light hiking with scenic overlooks and photo stops. Among the possible destinations are Sarmiento de Gamboa Lake, Laguna Azul, the Paine River waterfalls, Almirante Nieto Hill or Cuernos del Paine, Nordenskjold Lake, Salto Grande, Cuernos del Paine Nordenskjold Lake lookout, or Pehoe Lake. We will picnic for lunch each day and return to Natales in time for dinner.

      Day 10  Buenos Aires
Today is another transportation day as we motor back to Argentina for our afternoon flight to Buenos Aires. We’ll conclude our tour with a final Happy Hour and dinner together.

      Day 11  Buenos Aires
Tour over after breakfast. Imprint will assist with airport transfer arrangements.

We at Imprint Tours believe travel broadens horizons, introduces new ways to see the world, equips us with a new frame of reference for evaluating our own society, breaks down prejudice, and promotes global understanding. Therefore, we endeavor to “Travel with Intent”: an intention to take a reflective, introspective approach; connect with the cultures we visit; and balance the enjoyment of discovery with responsible travel. We want our “imprint” on the planet to be light and our “imprint” on the local culture to be positive.

A wonderful trip all around! A nice-sized group (10 in all), fantastic activities, and a good look at Thailand from multiple perspectives--culture, history, and natural wonders. Sarah and Ant were excellent leaders and worked together seamlessly. I wish there had been more time for the south of Thailand - I wanted much more than three days in the islands, and I'll probably be back one of these days to explore them further.

This trip was another cultural immersion. We learned a lot about the people of Vietnam, their spirituality, gentle nature, sense of community, and happiness. This is a country that has a bright future and a winning attitude. The food is unbelievably good whether from the street or a restaurant. My wife and I truly enjoyed this experience and look forward to more adventures with Imprint.

It was a great adventure. We loved our local guide, Bon, who was very informative and his personal stories added to the cultural experience.

This was our first tour with Imprint Tours, and it will not be our last. We joined this tour at the last minute, after the group had an unexpected opening. This was Imprints first tour back in Vietnam after the Covid shutdown. We found the tour guide, and leaders to be exceptionally organized, detailed oriented, flexible, with a great grasp of logistics for this tour. Thier objective was to expose us to as much as possible within the time period, including historical, religious, monuments, and natural scenery. While a schedule was maintained, when extra time appeared, they were quick to fill with local experiences that left lasting impressions. This tour included a fair amount of walking over various terrains, climbing in and out of small boats, and lots of stairs. Those with mobility issues should be aware this is an active tour that requires the above abilities. Our local guide was exceptional, highly knowledgeable, and entertaining.

They itinerary was great and I enjoyed the people and food of Thailand. Our local guide, Ant, was devoted to the group. Our main guide, however, spent little time and effort on our tour. Daily schedules, if created at all, were sent via What's App during breakfast. She seemed to have a lot of personal issues and spent most of our time together taking videos to promote her travel business or planning new travel offerings rather than spending time in the moment educating the group about Thailand and its culture. As a result I heard more about her ex-employer, ex-husband, and strategies for her boyfriend to fight child support to his ex-wife than I heard about Thailand from this guide. She also seemed to have health issues and opted out of activities at both the beginning and end of our tour. My understanding from friends is that this is not typical of Imprint tours. I think it was just an issue with the guide.
