 The Alerce  Milenario, also known as the "Gran Abuelo" or "Great Grandfather," is a  Patagonian cypress (Fitzroya cupressoides) in Chile and is a strong contender for the title of the oldest tree in South America and potentially the world. Scientists estimate it to be over 5,000 years old, with some models suggesting an age of 5,484 years. This would make it significantly older than the current record holder, a bristlecone pine in California.

Enjoy a scenic drive through the park with stops for short walks, viewpoints, and wildlife sightings — guanacos, foxes, and if we’re lucky, condors or pumas. A picnic lunch will be served in nature, with breathtaking views all around.

 We begin the day with a breathtaking boat trip across Grey Lake, gliding past floating icebergs toward the towering face of Grey Glacier—one of the most stunning glaciers in Patagonia. Take in the deep blues of the ice and the silence of this remote glacial landscape.  Enjoy a relaxing lunch amidst the park’s natural beauty, taking time to rest and refuel.  

In the afternoon, we’ll set out on a moderate 3-hour hike to the Los Cuernos Lookout. This scenic trail winds through lenga forests and along lakeshores, offering epic views of the famous "Horns of Paine"—a dramatic granite formation that’s one of the park’s most iconic sights.

This day blends water, ice, and earth for a full sensory experience of Torres del Paine’s grandeur.

We’ll transfer by road to the Chile–Argentina border, where we’ll complete immigration procedures before boarding our comfortable bus to El Calafate—your gateway to Argentina’s southern Patagonia and the famous Perito Moreno Glacier.

Enjoy scenic views as you cross the Andean steppe, with time to rest, journal, or simply take in the vast Patagonian landscapes.

 After breakfast, we depart for a scenic drive to the glacier, passing through the wild Patagonian steppe and arriving at the park’s panoramic walkways. Spend the morning exploring multiple viewpoints, where you’ll witness massive ice walls calving into the turquoise waters below — a truly unforgettable sight.  Upgrade your experience with an optional boat ride along the glacier’s face or a guided mini-trek on the ice.  Enjoy a packed or picnic lunch with views of the glacier before returning to El Calafate in the late afternoon for rest or an optional evening activity. 

 After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s vibrant capital city—known for its rich culture, European architecture, and tango spirit.  

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided city tour through some of Buenos Aires’ most iconic neighborhoods, including: San Telmo – historic and full of character, La Boca – colorful houses and street performers near Caminito, Recoleta – elegant architecture and the famous Recoleta Cemetery. Plaza de Mayo – the political heart of the city

 Enjoy a free day at leisure to explore Buenos Aires at your own pace. Stroll through leafy parks, shop at local artisan markets, visit museums or cafes, or simply rest and reflect after your Patagonian journey.
