There's a particular kind of morning in Costa Rica; the ocean opening up as the sun clears the ridge, the sounds of the birds and the monkeys awakening, and the jungle and fruit trees pressing in close on every side.
After living here for six years, the magic of this place still swells my heart. It is also where I wrote the first words of my book, Pathways to Self, while I, too, was stepping into my purpose.
Hi, I'm Dana! I'm the Co-Founder and General Manager of ORA Costa Rica, a boutique retreat space in Nosara, Guanacaste rooted in my over twenty years experience in hosting, retreat facilitation, and transformational work. As a certified clinical hypnotherapist, I have worked with hundreds of clients on personal growth, self-realization, and purposeful living — a thread that runs through everything I create.
My book, Pathways to Self: The Path to Purpose through the Nine Steps of Self-Realization, is an international bestseller and reflects on how a deeper relationship with Self can align us with our authentic purpose and activate our unique contributions to the world. It is why I knew when I co-founded ORA Costa Rica alongside my family, that one of our first retreats would be inspired by those same steps that I personally took when I first arrived. It is with pleasure that I invite you to join us.

The environment you step into shapes what’s possible. At ORA, the conditions for real restoration already exist — the jungle, the ocean, the rhythm of the place. Each day starts with an early breakfast and movement practice on the sunrise yoga deck, followed by a warm breakfast and free time across ORA's luxury campus, the expansive pool, infrared sauna and cold plunge included. Afternoons hold a workshop built around one of the principles from the book the Pathways to Self, aimed to bring your closer to your inner truth and authenticity. Evenings always centre around sunset, whether it be from ORA's sunset oceanview deck, or from from Nosara's premiere restaurants. Excursions, events, and a local's perspective are all included.
