We travel approximately 380 km within the fauna reserve that has the greatest biodiversity in the central Patagonian region. The UNESCO World Natural Heritage Committee awarded the qualification to the Valdés Peninsula in 1999.
We will visit the C. Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center where we can appreciate an exhibition on the flora, fauna and geology of the place; Puerto Pirámides, a tourist village from where boats set sail for whale watching from June to December and nautical tours in summer; Caleta Valdés and Punta Cantor depending on the time of year, to observe sea lions, elephant seals and Magellanic penguins from September, as well as enjoy a unique landscape given by this very particular geological formation. During the tour of the open sea coasts there is the possibility of spotting orcas, according to the fauna calendar.
On the roads we travel and in the surrounding fields we can also observe a diversity of terrestrial fauna such as guanacos, rheas, maras, armadillos, and gray foxes.
