We had a great time...beautiful weather, great pickleball facility, wonderful food! Our local guide, Simi, was the best; always making sure that we were where we needed to be & planned the best outings for us! Rick was a wonderful, gracious host & fun PB player too. Learned some key improvements for my game from Rich. Only thing is that we really didn't play enough pickleball! Maybe missing the first day made the difference, I would like to have stayed a full week. Next time we will!!

Super fun girls trip. Costa Rica has been on my travel wish list for years and years. Great combo of experiencing Costa, hiking in the forest, watching surf competitions, beach walks, great food, fun cocktails, mahjongg AND pickleball. I learned new pb skills and enjoyed playing with our group and with members of the club. Great trip!

I was disappointed not to be playing more pickleball. That is what we all thought was to be a fair bit of each day's activity. I would like to have played 3 hours every day, with no more than one hour being instruction. And with a different instructor. Rich's presence at every single activity, including our down/girl time at the hotel was too much. We expected him to be our pickleball instructor, nothing more. With that being said, we LOVED LOVED LOVED Simi and Rick!!!! The hotel was great. Loved that breakfast and massages were included. My ideal: Pickleball for 3 hours in the morning. Lunch at the club. Then free time or the option of an excursion in the afternoon, followed by dinner out. Sunsets at the beach were nice, as long as the bus ride was short. The day at Tortuga Island was fine, but I'd rather have been playing pickleball and gone to a beach nearby, perhaps as day guests of a resort where we could get food and drink service, etc., for the afternoon. Would I do it again, exactly as it was? No. Rich made the trip awkwardly uncomfortable. Get another pro and I think you'll be seeing us and lots of our friends back year after year!

Thank you so much for the honest feedback. We really do appreciate it, and we’re very glad to hear how much you loved retreat organizers, the hotel, the breakfasts, and the massages. One thing we’ve learned is that every retreat group is different. Some groups want more structure and involvement throughout, while others want more free time, more court time, or simply more time to enjoy being together as a group. With Rich, his intention is always to provide great service and to be as helpful, present, and engaged as possible. That said, we also recognize that this group may have preferred a little more space and a little more women-only time, and we completely understand that. That’s important feedback for us, and we’re very sensitive to it. Comments like yours help us do a better job of tailoring each retreat to the people attending. Going forward, we’ll put even more emphasis on understanding exactly what each group wants in advance, so we can better strike the right balance of pickleball, instruction, excursions, and downtime. We really appreciate you sharing this with us. It helps us learn, improve, and create better experiences moving forward. We enjoyed having you here and look forward to seeing you again next season!

We had a wonderful time. There was ample opportunities for pickleball play/instruction as well as excursions. The Resort: The breakfast at the resort was amazing and plenty. Staff members were all very kind and accommodating. Our first night we had issues with the TV and bugs which we learned are called “abuelitas” flying in our room. It wasn’t an issue after the first night, but after that it was tough to not notice. I wish there were more rugs on the floor as someone who likes to be barefoot. If you have house slippers I would suggest bringing. It would be nice to have some extra toiletries in the bathroom. There was hand soap and nothing else. The shower did have wash, shampoo and conditioner. Excursions: We loved the crocodile tour. Exceeded our expectations. The waterfall hike was a challenge but happy we survived. Literally. It would be nice to have some excursions to choose from. There was another hike but we decided to spend that time on a boat we chartered to fish. We were definitely there to learn pickleball but also like to explore what we can bring in a foreign land. I would have loved a cooking lesson at the resort. Or even a yoga class. Pickleball: Coach Rich was insightful and very helpful. He provided a lot of information and attention. I wish there were more courts to play on. It would be nice if more people were in the same level of play. One thing that could have been better too, is more mixing of participants since it felt very cliquey. The Pura Pickleball club was terrific. It would have been nice to not have all meals at the club and to have opportunities to eat at other local restaurants. But overall the food was delicious, but my family and I did go off the reservation to try local cuisine at our own expense.
