Piedmont doesn’t reveal itself through a single great wine or famous dish. Its character lives in the connection between the land, the table, and generations of people who have shaped both.
Across Piedmont’s vineyard-covered hills, we’ll explore the diversity of its wines, from celebrated classics to rare discoveries, moving between historic cellars and intimate family estates. Beyond wine, there are truffle woods, artisan cheeses, an old Asti chocolatier, and a country kitchen where we’ll cook and share our own Piedmontese lunch.
Then Piedmont changes its rhythm. Turin brings royal palaces, grand piazzas, historic cafés and bustling food markets. Once the seat of the powerful House of Savoy and the first capital of unified Italy, Turin reveals Piedmont’s royal side—a striking contrast to the vineyard villages and country traditions of the region.
Here, exceptional wine and food are part of everyday life, shaped by family, place, and traditions that still matter. From vineyard-covered hills to the grand streets of Turin, eight days reveal what makes this corner of Italy so distinctive—and the Italian art of living well.

Our journey begins with a group transfer from Milan Malpensa Airport to Alba, where we’ll settle into the 4-star Hotel Calissano for five nights. After free time, our Tour Manager will offer an orientation walk through Alba’s historic center. This evening, we travel to Marchesi di Barolo for a private visit to the historic cellars connected to the early development of Barolo, followed by a 4-course Welcome Dinner paired with Marchesi di Barolo wines.
Discover Alba on a guided walking tour with a tasting of local truffle specialties, followed by free time for lunch and exploring. In the afternoon, we head into the woods for a traditional truffle hunt with a local trifolau and trained dog. We continue to Cascina Piccaluga–Abellonio for a cellar visit and five-wine tasting, including two Barbarescos, before returning to Alba for a 3-course dinner with wine at Momenti Gourmet.
Enjoy a free morning in Alba before traveling into the countryside around Asti. At a family-run cheese refiner’s farmhouse, we’ll visit the aging cellar and enjoy a guided tasting of 12 cheeses with local accompaniments, two wines, and a seasonal dish. In Asti, we’ll taste handmade nougat and chocolates at historic Barbero Davide, paired with Moscato d’Asti, before continuing to the Perfumo family winery near Nizza Monferrato for wine tasting and a traditional farmer’s dinner paired with the family’s wines.
Today is devoted to Barolo and the UNESCO-listed Langhe hills, including panoramic views from La Morra. At Poderi Gianni Gagliardo, a private cellar visit and tasting of four premium wines explores how different vineyards shape the character of Nebbiolo and Barolo. We continue to Agricola Marrone for a 3-course winery lunch paired with the family’s wines, followed by a cellar visit and free time in the village of Barolo before returning to Alba.
In the Moscato hills near Canelli, we’ll spend the morning at a countryside agriturismo for a hands-on Piedmontese cooking class, preparing a four-course meal before sitting down together for lunch paired with the estate’s wines. In the afternoon, we visit Isolabella della Croce in the high hills of Loazzolo. Our tasting includes several estate wines and the rare Loazzolo DOC, produced in extremely limited quantities from naturally dried Moscato grapes.
We leave Alba for Turin, once the seat of the House of Savoy and the first capital of unified Italy, and our home for two nights at the 4-star Hotel Concord. A guided walking tour of central Turin introduces its grand piazzas, Baroque palaces, elegant arcades, historic cafés, chocolate traditions, and connection to Vermouth. At historic Caffè San Carlo, we’ll enjoy a Vermouth tasting with finger foods and risotto for lunch, followed by a free afternoon and evening.
Our final full day explores Turin’s culinary side with a guided walk to Porta Palazzo, one of Europe’s largest open-air food markets, followed by a Bicerin tasting at the Royal Palace. The afternoon is completely free to explore Turin at your own pace. This evening, we’ll gather inside the magnificent 18th-century Palazzo Graneri della Roccia at Circolo dei Lettori for a multi-course Farewell Dinner paired with Piedmontese wines.
After breakfast, we check out of the Grand Hotel Concord and depart Turin by group transfer to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). The drive is approximately 87 miles and normally takes 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Please allow sufficient time for the group transfer and recommended international airport check-in when booking your return flight.
