About this trip

Come and spend six days away with us on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, staying above the picturesque village of Positano where the panoramic views of the sea alone will take your breath away.

We will stay at a glorious eco-resort, where nature reigns supreme, surrounded by olive groves, lemon orchards, gorgeous florals and breathtaking coastal views.

With your daily Pilates practice, nourishing food, hikes and walks to the beach and the incredible natural surroundings, this retreat will keep you fit and active allowing you to leave with a healthier body and state of mind.

This retreat is only recommended for those in good physical shape as our location is only reachable by foot: a steep 30 minute walk from the main road — we will take care of your bags! This beautiful spot in nature allows for a quiet, relaxing and private retreat. 

Positano is a very active town (one reason people live so long) and you will walk up and down a lot so it is important to be in good physical condition to attend the retreat and comfortable walking up and down rugged terrain

The shared rooms are rustic, charming and quiet in the evening. The meals are fresh, filling, healthy, incredibly delicious and 100% vegetarian made with ingredients from the land. 

A stunning location, you will love!

La Selva is run by Martha and Cristiano and their lovely family. They are both avid yogis and have spent many years studying in India. 

They built La Selva to call on some of the more valuable ethics of eco friendly living: simplicity and a deep respect for nature.

You will be very active walking around the property

This is a beautiful way to get in touch with the stunning nature and enjoy some of the most exceptional view the Amalfi Coast has to offer.  

La Selva does have a lovely refreshing pool put it is only set up if there are no droughts. 


Meals are fresh and healthy made with seasonal organic produce grown in the garden with some traditional elements of true Italian cuisine to put a smile on our faces.

All meals will be balanced vegetarian dishes made to provide maximum nourishments to our bodies.

We will eat twice daily to allow the body time to lightly detox. Caffeine, sugar and lactose are limited through out the week but we will keep a little good Italian wine for our evening meal!

Dietary requirements can be taken into account if discussed before hand. Vegan options provided.

Each Day the Menu is as follows:
Light breakfast (teas, coffee, fruit)
Brunch (warm and cold dishes, salads, pastas, fruits-menu changes daily for something new each meal!)
Dinner (homemade pastas, cheeses, warm dishes, salads plus, wine, teas & dessert)


All rooms are shared.

We do not have any individual rooms. 

The ‘Stanzone’, a big family sized room with a double bed, 2 single beds and another 3 up on the sleeping platform.

2 double rooms with balconies with sea views and the possibility to add an extra single bed.

A big family room with a double bed, bunk beds and ensuite bathroom.

There is a big communal bathroom with 3 showers, 2 toilets.

What to pack for this retreat

Positano is hot and sunny in June.

No warm clothes are necessary, but maybe a light shawl as there are a few breezy evenings. We will practice outdoors but adjust according to the sun so as to not get too warm while practicing. 

Bring sunscreen and other cover-ups you desire for protection.

How to dress:

The best way to dress on the Amalfi Coast is to opt for clothing that is both comfortable and stylish :).

Here are some must haves:

Linen trousers: they are a great day to night option, they come in many colors and are very popular with local women, so you won’t feel out of place in them.

Hiking shoes: or comfortable sneakers, that do not give you blisters in rugged terrains. 

Flat sandals/ flip flops: for beach time in Positano.

Maxi dresses: in case we opt for a fancy dinner :)

Bugs: There are some mosquitoes in the area, but not an issue. Take along any spray or precautions to make the stay more comfortable. We are in NATURE, so sometimes bugs come with the territory!

  • Italy (or Europe) travel adapter
  • Kindle for reading
  • Italian phrasebook (but you have me for immediate translations)

Best luggage:

The Amalfi Coast is a place of narrow alleys and uneven terrain so I always recommend bringing small luggage and opting for a rucksack rather than a large wheelie bag whenever possible.
Luggage I like is:

  • Carry on backpack, perfect for a short stay
  • Super lightweight wheelie bag, so you can easily lift it for the occasional step

A good cross-body bag that can go day to night.


Who is this retreat suitable for? 

This retreat is suitable for anyone as long as they are comfortable hiking. This is a very active retreat and the lodge is only accessible by foot up and down mountain paths.

What airport do I fly into? 

The closest Airport is Napoli (NAP) which serves international airlines from the USA, Canada, EU & other locations. Please try to arrive by 2pm (14.00) at (NAP) for our pick-up. 

What is the closest train station?

The best train station is Napoli Centrale.

How long is the airport transfer?

The Shuttle will be from Napoli on the start date and to Napoli on the finish date of the retreat. 

The shuttle to Positano will depart after 2 pm on the first day of the retreat from Napoli Airport and passing by Napoli Centrale Train Station. Shuttle time is more or less 2 hours.

When leaving the retreat: Napoli Shuttle is at 11 am (Departure time from La Selva meaning we should be in Napoli before 1.30 pm so book flights accordingly).

If you are unable to make these times, please let us know, We can assist in arranging your own pick-up, not included. Price for private transfer is appx. 150-175€. If someone else signs up needing a transfer outside of our pick-up time, we will do our best to pair up guests to reduce the costs for you. 

NOTE: We are not a travel agent and will not book any train or flights, but we live full-time in Italy, so we can assist you in your plans to ensure a trouble-free retreat!

Average Times to consider: 

-Napoli airport to retreat: 1 hour, 30 min 

-Napoli train station to retreat: 1 hour, 30 min 

-Rome airport to Napoli train station: 1st, take express train (Leonardo) to main station (Termini). Then, train from Termini to Napoli Centrale:1 hour, 10 min. 

-Milan airport to Napoli train station: There are several options (shuttle, train, metro) from either airport in Milan to main train station (Milano Centrale). From there, the train to Napoli Centrale: 4 hours, 50 mins 

-Florence or Pisa airport to Napoli train station: 1st take either a shuttle bus (Terravision is a good one) or taxi to Florence’s main station (S. Maria Novella). From there, take the train to Napoli Centrale: 2 hours, 56 mins.

We are able to work with most dietary requirements. Please email us contact@yogandoretreats.com, what they are and we will make sure they know in advance.

Do I need insurance?

We always suggest to our clients to get an insurance for traveling abroad. We like World Nomads

An inspirational yoga teacher in Rebecca Hannah who led amazing classes & workshops, an incredible group of yogis who brought with them such positive energy, well organised activities in paddle boarding & hiking, delicious Italian food and beautiful accommodation at Casa di Sale, Carloforte in the most incredible island of San Pietro. Yogando Retreats review Yogando Retreats organised this trip very well, as it was almost an all forms of transport to get to the location (plane, ferry, shuttle, car), they gave us all the information we needed to get there. Communication was clear but perhaps all the transfers and petrol should have been included in the price so the only thing we had to worry about was the airfare and extra excursions. In terms of the extra excusions it would have been nice to know about them before we actually got to the retreat but luckily the spontaneous organisation of these excursions worked out. I was disappointed that we never got to do the breath work or meditation that was mentioned in the itinerary, as I was really looking forward to that part of the evening. Paola Pilates review Paola is a lovely young woman and I was a little concerned at first as she is a little introvert and it took her awhile to open up and talk with the guests, but in the end she opened up, and made people feel welcomed and amazing, especially after her morning lessons. I thought Paola's lessons were very good and I'm happy that she only used her music in the first lesson, because with the ambience of nature surrounding us she really didn't need music at all and her voice is particularly soft, so it was better to hear her cues as well without music drowing out her voice. Paola's abdominal workshop was a nice touch especially for those guests who didn't have an understanding of how to be aware and connect with their abdominals during a Pilates lesson. Casa di Sale review I absolutely loved this little rustic and raw Villa, it felt like home and Nadia makes you feel so welcomed into her home. I stayed in the big tent and slept comfortably but sleeping 4 days in a tent is enough for me. If the retreat was any longer I would have liked a room. I think the tent accommodation could do with some little bean bags outside the tent on the deck to sit on so you can read a book, or just have a little snooze, but swaying in the hammock outside the tent was very relaxing. If you are sharing a tent and the hammock is occupied, the other person has no chill out space other than the common area which is a beautiful space to hang out but sometimes people like to have their space so maybe the common area doesn't give people that space they need. Mosquitoes were only a problem the first night and once I understood to fumigate the tent before sundown I had no problems. LOVED LOVED LOVED the outdoor shower!! Oh and a pool would have been nice to have a dip in during the day and in the evening under the stars. Food review OMG the food was delicious, I wanted to take Nadia and Rossella home with me. It was so healthy, nutritious and flavoursome and I liked that it was more plant based and that there was no alcohol offered. A little suggestion for after the Pilates or a Yoga class that a nice glass or shot of some healthy juice concoction was ready for drinking right after the lesson would have been nice to give you a little boost and to rehydrate you. Excursions review Sound healing was a great experience, language barrier was a little off as I don't think they knew how to express themselves and their method as they were not fluent in English. I loved how it was performed under the stars. SUP was fun, 30-45mins would have been enough and may I suggest not to organise dinner in the town afterwards as it would have been nice to have a shower to wash the salt off but in saying that we were all ready to pay the 1 euro for the 20 second shower if they had not changed the SUP location point. Other comments Having Paola and Elisa joining us for the lessons, brunch/dinner, participating in the excursions and generally hanging out and also having them and Nadia driving us around the island was a real personal touch that you can't get with big group retreats so it felt more special, intimate and connected. We were also very lucky to have a great bunch of girls who all got along nicely. A truly special experience, and exactly what I needed. Thank you, Yvette
