This day trip features a leisurely morning of cruising along one of South Carolina's beautiful Lowcountry rivers where we will be entertained and educated by a local historian.  During this 2 to  2 1/2 hour (depends on the tides) private charter we learn about the history, mystery and legends of six Rice Plantations.  The Waccamaw River also treats us to flora, fauna and usually wildlife sightings of eagles, ospreys and alligators.  Following our time on the river (rivah as the locals say) we make the short drive to The Market Common. Previously an Air Force Base during World War II, visiting the Market Common is a journey to the past and present. Explore tributes to the military while having the comfort of a modern mix of retail and restaurants in a charming atmosphere. Lunch choices include KC's Bistro, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, King St. Grill, Zardin Healthy Eatery, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen, P.F. Changs, Dirty Don's Oyster Bar or Travinia Italian Kitchen. There will also be time for a little shopping at favorites such as the unique TRUE SOUTH: Food, Garden & Gift—a curated collection of everything Southern!

The boat is a 44 passenger, covered pontoon style vessel. There is a bathroom on the boat. This is a smooth ride with gentle wake in the river.

8am - Departure from Compass Pointe Wellness Center parking lot

Approx. 10am- Arrive at Marina in Murrells Inlet for cruise boarding

River Cruise - 10:30am to approx. 12:45pm

1:30pm - Lunch and Shopping at Market Common

4pm - Departure for Compass Pointe with approximate return time of 6pm
