DANCE CLASSES & GROUP ACTIVITIES:

Daily group classes will include a mix of morning and/or afternoon sessions in a variety of mostly swing, blues, & Latin dance styles (ECS, blues, salsa, merengue, rhumba, cha cha, tango, Latin fusion, etc), with a strong emphasis on both partnering & connection as well as introducing fun new step patterns and stylings.

Other group activities may include afternoon & evening dances, a cocktail social hour, games night, special dance outings, as well as many other fun "non-dancing" activities.  So many options, so little time!

This week's dance classes are not for the absolute beginning dancer.  Participants will be expected to know some basic dance steps and partnering skills (ie, be comfortable with the beginning level of any social dance).

If this isn't you yet, not to worry! -- you have plenty of time between now and Nov 9th, 2024, to sign up at a dance school near you and complete a beginning level social dance class!

PASSPORT & VISA:

All travelers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return. Some countries also require a machine-readable passport and/or unstamped available pages.

When assisting with an international travel booking, we will assume that all travelers on the booking have a valid passport. If this is not the case, you must let us know. It is important to ensure you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Travel insurance is required for all of our trips and will help protect both your investment and our vendors should you need to cancel. There are many companies that offer travel insurance options. You can sign up with one such policy during the payment checkout portion of this registration.  If you are a AAA member, you may want to check with them.

Once you have purchased your travel insurance, please let us know the company name and policy number you have with them.

*PLEASE NOTE:  We do not represent World Nomads.  As an affiliate, we receive a small commission when you get a quote from World Nomads using this link.  This is information only and not a requirement to buy travel insurance through this company.

CHANGING MONEY:

Although restaurants, stores, and ATMs in most tourist destinations in Mexico accept VISA, MC, and other bank, debit, and credit cards for access to pesos, Troncones is a small fishing village where many of the stores and restaurants only take pesos.  For this reason, you may want to exchange some currency before you come, or you can easily do it at the airport or at any tourist money exchange kiosk in town once you arrive.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES & ADVENTURES:

Optional Activities: The following activities, tours, & excursions will be further discussed and organized during day #1 of orientation (i.e., there is no need to pre-purchase or pre-register for any of these offerings). Everything will be done in Troncones.  For those activities that require a fee, payment may be made by cash (US dollars or pesos) or by credit card.

HIKING: The Sierra Mountain Range is directly across the road from the resort. Enchanted with forests of pine, oak, and aspen, and blessed with stunning blue skies, meadows, and mesas, your hike can be a gentle one or an extreme adventure. It's up to you. Choose to have a local guide lead the way, or blaze new trails on your own. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

KAYAKING & ECO TOURS: Enjoy a relaxing experience paddling through the La Boca estuary. Surrounded by lush vegetation, this river is home to many different species of local wildlife. The resort’s resident marine biologist, Alejandro Rodriguez Pruneda, shares his encyclopedia-like knowledge of nature as he guides you through a maze of riverways. This is an absolutely beautiful vacation activity and is a must for bird watchers!

TURTLE RELEASE: Over the past years, due greatly to human impact on the environment, the population of sea turtles has greatly diminished, making them an endangered species. Our resort works closely with the Sea Turtle Sanctuary to repopulate this magnificent creature. Every afternoon on Troncones beach, during the winter months, dozens of sea turtles are released and you can take part in this amazing experience.

HORSEBACK RIDING: Our resort features local, professionally trained, friendly, and beautiful riding horses. Walk, gallop, and cantor along the stunning beaches and towns of Troncones, Manzanillo Bay and Majahua.

BOOGIE BOARDING: If surfing isn’t your thing, you might want to take one of our resort’s complimentary boogie boards out to play in the waves. Adjacent to where we are staying is a long stretch of idyllic beach, perfectly suited for swimming, boogie boarding, and playing in the waves.

SNORKELING: Troncones is situated in the midst of several beautiful snorkeling spots. Troncones Point, a short walk away, has a beautiful reef full of sea life. If you want to venture further, we’ll help you arrange transportation to Manzanillo Bay or Las Gatas, both of which are exceptional snorkeling destinations. PLEASE NOTE: Renting a mask and snorkel is possible, but we highly recommend that you bring your own.

SURFING: Countless surfers come to Troncones for their classic point breaks. There are amazing waves for longboarders and shortboarders alike. Excellent conditions for both beginners and experts. Lessons are available at the resort upon request.

REGIONAL EXCURSIONS: Explore the Mexican Riviera with trips to nearby Ixtapa or its quaint neighbor Zihuatanejo. This region offers a profusion of fishing charters, watersports and scuba diving sites. Ixtapa boasts high-end golf courses and lighted tennis courts. Horses are available for beach rides in Playa La Ropa and Playa Linda. Sun worshippers will find beaches that are packed with activity as well as isolated tropical oases. To really get away from it all, visit the fishing settlement of Barra de Patosi.

CLASSES: With meditation, Vinyasa flow, and gentle yoga classes offered daily at the retreat center, you have every opportunity to deepen your practice or create a new one. Classes typically have a nominal fee.

MASSAGE: Our retreat center offers a variety of massage treatments. The massage rooms are located right on the beach, providing an incredible, full-sensory experience. Feel the ocean breeze, listen to the rhythmic sound of the sea, and enjoy a variety of different massage modalities performed by their professional therapists. Therapeutic modalities include Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Thai, Swedish, & Chi Nei Tsang, among others. Prices start at $80 USD for a 60-minute massage

WELLNESS COUNSELING: As part of your retreat experience, you are invited to enjoy a FREE 30-minute wellness consultation offered by the resort’s wellness counselors. The session is designed to assist you in gaining clarity in order to create balance in all facets of your life: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Great time meeting and dancing with a wonderful group
By Rick K for Harrison Hot Springs Dance & Spa Retreat on Jun 13, 2024
It was a wonderful trip. The resort was exceptional, clean and comfortable. The small town had lots of wonderful restaurants and a beautiful scenic waterfront. The classes and teachers were exceptional including wonderful dancing in the Copper Room.

Harrison Hot Springs feel like really getting away, yet it took less than 3 hours to get there, counting the border crossing. And the classes were great! It was wonderful to do tango, West Coast, NC2S, and fusion (my very favorite dances), all in 2 days. I love Ari's teaching style, emphasizing partner connection, fluidity, and musicality instead of rigid rules or over-analysis. It brings out the joy and freedom in dance. It was fun to be with a whole group of dancers for the weekend, too!
