- Cozy AccommodationsHigh Camp is a spacious mountain lodge with 6 bedrooms. You will be sharing the room with one other person. Each bed comes with flannel sheets and a blanket. Towels provided.
- Guided Nature HikesExplore the landscape around the Hut with your instructor, taking in the forests, meadows and moumtain vistas.
- Guided WorkshopsRosemerry will lead the workshop with thoughtfully gathered poems and will provide prompts to insplire your writing while being immeresed in pristine nature. She is an amazing instructor.
- Evening ActivitiesEvenings are spent connecting with others around the campfire or soaking in the ourdoor wood-fired hot tub. The evening sunset on Pica Peak is something not to be missed!
- Our LocationHigh Camp is 320 pristine acres in the high San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. The property is surrounded by Forest Service land. High Camp is held as a conservaton easement. Simply Amazing!

- No Wifi or Cell ServiceThere is no WiFi or cell service at High Camp but we promise you a better connection with new friends and spending time in nature.

High up in the mountains of Colorado, High Camp Hut is a two-story backcountry hut nestled into 320 acres of privately held land sitting in 2 million acres of San Juan National Forest. The hut sits at 11,000 feet above sea level in the San Juan National Forest, with views of Lizardhead, the Wilsons, and Sheep Mountain. Drive 15 miles from Telluride, CO, and access to the Hut is a short 2.5-mile hike, ski, jog, or bike from Hwy 145.

The retreat was magical. Stunning place, lovely people, beautiful walks. Our poet facilitator Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer was amazing- so incredibly present for each and every one of us. Our trail guide Cindy was equally special, and the food was delicious. I would definitely like to do this trip again!

High Camp is a magical place. The retreat was amazing! I learned so much about wildflowers and watercolor painting. The group was welcoming and inspiring. The amount of knowledge and talent that Karen and Amy have is endless. I will be back!!
