**Please note due to the risk of flight delays or cancellations and the large financial loss to you if you miss the trip to Churchill, we are including a full day in Winnipeg to help mitigate issues which could arise.
Explore downtown Winnipeg on your own! You won't want to miss the Canadian Museum for Human Rights or the Forks Market. For dinner, reconvene with the group and dine at one of the best restaurants in the city: 529 Wellington (a former mansion turned into a fine dining establishment)!
Fly to Churchill and eat breakfast on the flight. Spend the day looking at polar bears and other wildlife while bouncing around on a very unique vehicle known as a Tundra Buggy. Lunch will be eaten on the Tundra Buggy. At dusk, we will head into the town of Churchill for dinner. After dinner and then some shopping, you will transfer to the White Whale Lodge to relax and sleep after a long day.
In the morning, we will depart the lodge and take a tour of the town! This is the perfect tour for those wanting a proper introduction to the community and both its historical and modern-day treasures. Our guide will take us by 4x4 vehicle to all the important sites around town such as: Cape Merry, Miss Piggy, the Polar Bear Jail, Ithaca Shipwreck, the Sea Walls Project, and more. Walking is required to experience some sites. We will then head to the Churchill Northern Studies Centre for lunch and a tour. In the evening, we will head to a private at the yurt with a local Churchill speaker present. The yurt's location gives you a dark sky, away from ambient light for aurora photography and viewing. This spot is tucked away in the trees, is warm and spacious, and allows a comfy break from the cold. Sit around the wood stove with some refreshments and snacks in between Aurora activity (we hope!). After the evening is through, sleep in peace at the White Whale Lodge.
Today, we will spend the morning exploring other areas of Churchill and also have a dog sledding program. In the evening, we will depart back to Winnipeg where we will spend the night near the airport in preparation for flights back to the USA the following day.
Depart for home on your own with a camera full of awesome shots and a life more enriched with amazing memories!
