Away to Africa will kick off this cultural experience in Accra and lead you throughout Cape Coast, Aburi Mountain and many other jewels of Ghana. With AfroFuture just a few days before the New Year, the festival showcases the vibrant culture of Africa with fashion, art installations and music. Relax and dance your heart out on Accra’s beautiful beaches while creating the experience of a lifetime with new friends.

After landing at the Kotoka International Airport, your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your lodging in Accra.

Upon arrival, you will meet with a tailor to take your sizes and provide a selection of garments for you to choose outfits to be made personally for you.

Afterwards, you will have a welcome dinner at an authentic Ghanaian or rooftop restaurant.

Today you will spend the day getting acclimated to the Ghanaian lifestyle.

First, you will start your morning with drumming and an African Dance Class.

For lunch you will attend a wine tasting paired with your favorite Ghanaian cuisine before spending the remainder of your day on the beach relaxing before heading out to enjoy a night on the town for the evening.

Explore the streets of Accra to indulge in Ghana's history and some shopping. Travel to the W.E.B. Dubois Memorial Centre for Pan African Culture to learn of the Pan African influence throughout the Diaspora.

A visit to this factory will help you learn how glasses are turned into beautiful beads; glasses are crushed to a fine powder, the powder poured into a mould made of clay, which is then heated using crushed palm kernels which burn at an extremely hot temperature to get the desired product.

You will then enjoy a hearty meal on Lake Volta.

Afterwards, you will participate in our At Risk Women Community Outreach Project, where we team up with a charity or nonprofit organization who share a common goal of uplifting and uniting the community.

Today at the beach, you will learn how to print your own batik fabric as a souvenir and how to wear a head wrap.

You will also learn how to cook a traditional Ghanaian meal and sample local non-alcoholic drinks.

Afterwards you will have the option of attending AfroFuture Festival.

Afterwards you will visit Cape Coast Castle. Listen to stories tracing the steps of African ancestors before their brutal voyage to the West.

You will then drive out to the village to meet the Chief and elders of the community who will welcome you by pouring libation.

The naming ceremony with drumming and dancing will follow. You will be given a local Ghanaian name and become part of the community while taking part in dancing and the ceremonial activities.

Wake up late today with an option for a spa day treatment.

Afterwards, you will meet with a spiritual healer and have the option to bring in the New Year along the ocean or at a private party.
