About this trip

An oceanside secluded location, plenty of yoga, sun, waves, friends, jungle, waterfalls, delicious and nourishing food, your choice of active adventure or relaxing down time. This retreat is the ideal balance between getting away, letting go, and diving in… Join us for Practice & Play Yoga Retreat with Garrick Peters in Costa Rica, Feb 24th-Mar 3rd, 2018!

Boca Sombrero is a 20 acre magnificent eco retreat center located in one of the World’s most biodiverse environments. Deep jungles, endless unpopulated beaches, warm ocean, waves, and rich wildlife. There are many lodging options to meet your needs and budget. Come on your own, with a partner, or a group of friends. Twice a day we will practice yoga to find our breath, connect to our bodies and awareness. In between, we will have lots of time to explore the jungle, surf, get a massage, hang poolside, or simply read in a hammock. With our own beach and all-levels surf break, you are steps away from surfing, swimming, or lounging on the beach between the sun and shade of the jungle canopy.

Pricing ranges from $1,590 - $2,650, which includes lodging, gourmet meals, and a dynamic yoga program. To secure a spot, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit. See accommodation options below. For more detailed information click here! To book, visit WeTravel or email garrickg@gmail.com.

Garrick Peters loves yoga and exudes joy in sharing his passion. Since his late teens, his pursuit of self-knowledge led him to explore various spiritual paths that included meditation, yoga and martial arts based practices. His classes blend alignment and vinyasa to create a balance between holding poses and playing with various tempos in movement. Garrick’s approach is playful yet focused, creative but consistent, and challenging while respecting anatomy and the body’s messaging. He encourages introspection, to find your own practice, to explore your edge, to discover the strength of breath and the stillness of self-awareness...where practice is an investigation and implementation of what feels good, what works in a lasting way, and what leads to a more meaningful experience of life (body, mind, and spirit). Garrick classes incorporate a unique approach to sequencing and transitions he calls LoopFlow. He uses music loops, specifically designed for breathing and movement, to keep time and bring spirit to vinyasa flow. By focusing on the timing and the quality of movement between poses in a flow sequence, a yogi can hone a sustained state of attention, and drop into a deep moving meditation.

This was a peaceful and relaxing retreat. The accommodations were rustic & small, but very clean. The food was super tasty & all made fresh daily. The agenda offered a very good amount of yoga and time for socializing or exploring the area. I would definitely attend again!
