Practice Students

We invite a small number of practice students to workshops to support a more realistic training and assessment environment for our candidates. Here's what that can look like:

• Practice students may participate in any one or more days of the workshop.

• Compare being a practice student to auditing a course: exposure to learning, no stress to perform, little credit for training.

• Practice students will receive instruction primarily from our candidates, yet can also expect to get some instruction directly from trainers.

• In exchange for the value they provide the program, practice students pay a reduced rate for the instruction they receive.

• Some portions of the workshop are designed only for candidates. During those periods, practice students will have opportunity to relax. Effort will be made to partner practice students with assisting instructors during those occasional periods so they can keep working on skills or just have fun on the water.

Practice students may join our events for one or more days. Select as many days as you like and register for specific days here. When you register, you'll be asked to pick days. Just select the first day you will participate for booking purposes. We'll follow-up to identify the specific days you want to attend.

We offer discounts on all of our programs for military veterans, first responders, and educators in recognition of your contribution to our country and communities.

We offer discounts to our friends and fellow paddlers at Florida Paddling Trails Association and Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers in recognition of the support they provide us and the work they do.
