Discover the vibrant energy and transformation of Medellín on an exclusive, privately guided city tour designed for DSCOOP participants.
Tour Start Time:
The tour is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM from the hotel where you will be staying.
In the event that multiple participants register and are staying at different hotels, the final pickup time and meeting point will be communicated the day before the tour, based on the confirmed group and logistics.
Your journey begins with a panoramic drive through Parque del Poblado, one of the city's most iconic gathering spots, offering a glimpse into Medellín’s dynamic lifestyle. The tour then continues with a scenic visit and walking experience at Pueblito Paisa, a charming replica of a traditional Antioquian village perched on a hilltop, where you'll enjoy sweeping views of the entire city.
Next, explore on foot the revitalized Parques del Río, a modern urban greenway along the Medellín River. Continue walking through the city's civic heart, visiting Plaza Mayor, the cultural and convention hub, the playful Barefoot Park (Parque de los Pies Descalzos), and the innovative Intelligent Building, symbols of Medellín’s renaissance.
From there, enjoy a panoramic view of the La Alpujarra Administrative Center, Plaza de las Luces, and the historic Vásquez and Carré buildings, before passing along La Playa Avenue, one of the city’s most traditional corridors.
The experience includes a guided visit to the Botero Museum, where you'll discover the unique works of the world-renowned artist Fernando Botero, followed by time in Plaza Botero, where his monumental sculptures animate the heart of downtown.
The tour continues with a panoramic drive through the northern area of Medellín, including Parque Explora, Plaza de los Sueños, Ruta N (the city’s innovation district), and the Atanasio Girardot Stadium area, a symbol of local sports pride.
To conclude the day, you'll visit Parque de la Inflexión, a powerful urban memorial located on the site of the former Monaco building—once owned by Pablo Escobar. Today, it stands as a space of reflection and resilience, honoring the victims of narcoterrorism and celebrating Medellín's collective commitment to peace and remembrance.
Return to your hotel with a new perspective on a city that has redefined itself through innovation, culture, and memory.
