About this trip

REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 1ST!!

Quest Yoga brings you a magical retreat to the Caribbean island of Dominica, where the sun-drenched tropics and warm temps nurture our minds and bodies. Our nature-inspired resort, Jungle Bay, is an award-winning adventure and wellness retreat center. This boutique, eco-luxury property is perched on a hillside overlooking the sparkling Caribbean Sea and is surrounded by lush rainforest and volcanic energy.

During our 6-day, 5-night retreat, we will practice daily yoga, attend wellness workshops, and immerse ourselves in the wild island of Dominica. Be embodied to awaken your playful nature both on and off the mat! Daily adventures include hiking thru the misty rainforest trails to thunderous waterfalls, discovering hidden, jade pools, snorkeling through the famous Champagne Reef rich with vibrant topical fish, and soaking in the pure and fresh thermal hot springs. Get in touch with the mystical healing traditions native to the island with a lesson in indigenous Caribbean herbalism and enjoy a garden tour of this edible resort! Additionally, no retreat is complete without a nourishing massage, which you will enjoy at the Bamboo Spa on property.

Here, in Dominica, your yoga practice and wellness journey unfold in harmony with nature’s rhythm — grounding, awakening, and adventurous all at once. Together, let's embrace TRAVEL THAT TRANSFORMS.

THE LOCATION- Dominica

Located in the eastern Caribbean, near St. Lucia, Dominica is a lush, volcanic island known as The Nature Island of the Caribbean. Its unspoiled rainforests, waterfalls, and warm, welcoming culture make it a sanctuary for travelers seeking wellness and vitality. Dominica connects adventurers and nature-lovers alike. Here you can enjoy hikes through misty mountain trails, snorkeling or diving among pristine coral reefs, soak in hidden pools, and feel the mist of a majestic waterfall.

Dominica, pronounced daa·muh·nee·kuh, is not to be confused with Dominican Republic!

THE RETREAT CENTER- Jungle Bay Resort

Awarding-winning, Jungle Bay is a unique eco-luxury resort perched above the Caribbean Sea on a 19-acre hillside. The resort’s two infinity pools, soothing hot tub, serene spa, and open-air yoga studios all frame breathtaking views of the rainforest and the sea beyond.

Jungle Bay is considered an “edible resort” — a living landscape where over a hundred varieties of tropical fruits, herbs, and vegetables grow right on site. Everywhere you wander, the island’s abundance surrounds you — from the scent of lemongrass drifting on the breeze to the sweetness of mangoes ripening in the sun.

Between adventures, you’ll savor nourishing meals prepared by Jungle Bay’s talented culinary team — vibrant, flavor-rich creations that celebrate Dominica’s culture and the freshness of the land itself.

Every detail at Jungle Bay reflects a deep reverence for nature and community. Hillside villas are crafted from local materials and surrounded by rainforest, therefore blending barefoot luxury with the healing rhythm of the island. Here, you’ll find space to reconnect with yourself, with others, and with the wild beauty that makes Dominica so extraordinary.

Jungle Bay is a sanctuary where adventure meets tranquility.

THE RETREAT EXPERIENCE

Each day at Jungle Bay unfolds in harmony with nature’s rhythm. Mornings begin with awakening and refreshing yoga overlooking the sea, listening to the sound of waves and tropical serenades. After practice, nourish yourself with fresh, organic island fare: tropical fruits, locally grown greens, and flavors that celebrate Dominica’s vibrant culture.

Days are a blend of movement, exploration, and rest. Hike through rainforest trails to cascading waterfalls, soak in natural hot springs, or float in the turquoise calm of Soufrière Bay.

Between excursions, you might linger by the pool, take a garden or herbal tour, or simply rest in your villa’s hammock as the rainforest hums around you. Jungle Bay offers a tranquil spa in which you will enjoy a heavenly massage.

Evenings will commence with relaxation, somatic stretching of muscles and fascia, perhaps a wellness workshop or topic, all inviting you to rest and restore.

YOUR RETREAT LEADER-

Kerrie Scott, RN, BSN, E-RTY 500

Owner of Quest Yoga, LLC

www.questyogacharleston.com

Kerrie’s path to yoga includes an extensive background in the
medical field as a critical care and flight nurse, as well as a
desire to heal her own injuries. Originally, Kerrie sought out
the popular benefits of yoga, such as strength and flexibility,
to help heal her chronic low back pain, however soon she fell
in love with the practice of yoga altogether. Kerrie’s initial
200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is the foundation for her
healing and invigorating teaching style. Kerrie subsequently
completed her Advanced 500 Hour Yoga Teaching thru
Asheville Yoga Center after several years of teaching.

Kerrie’s life both in the medical field and as an athlete gives
her the knowledge of proper alignment and safety during
instruction, always offering modifications as well as
challenges so that each student can benefit from her classes.

Kerrie founded Quest Yoga in 2018 focusing on mostly
private and small group yoga instruction. Quest Yoga's "TRAVEL THAT TRANSFORMS" wellness retreats blend inspiring travel and wellness throughout the globe. Expertly planned and executed, retreats curate the opportunity to discover YOU while exploring the world.

Quest Yoga warmly invites Kris Barnhardt to co-teach in Dominica!

Kris Barnhardt, E-RYT 500

Kris began her yoga journey in 1997 after taking her first Ashtanga class while earning her second degree in Nutrition Science. She quickly fell in love with the balance of physical challenge and inner calm the practice provided, especially the energetic and demanding aspects of yoga. Over the next 18 years, she practiced consistently as life and raising children allowed, including prenatal yoga during her pregnancies, and explored a wide range of styles from gentle and restorative to Power and Bikram.

After relocating to Charleston in 2015, Kris earned her RYT 200 at Charleston Power Yoga and went on to teach Vinyasa at various levels. She deepened her training with an RYT 500 certification in 2019 at Enlighten Yoga in Charlotte, NC, refining styles such as Yin, Deep Stretch, and Yoga Nidra.

Kris also holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Health Coaching Certificate, allowing her to support others holistically through movement, nutrition, and stress relief. Her current focus includes connective tissue, particularly fascia, and yoga’s impact on the body.

Off the mat, she enjoys time with her family, two doodles, audiobooks, and planning her next adventure or meal.
