About this trip

Thank you so much for an amazing trip! Our daughter came back excited, confident, and ready for her next adventure. We couldn't be more happy with the experience she had in visiting with locals, learning about the culture, and helping the residents of Costa Rica. This was the trip of a lifetime for her, and we are so grateful she was able to have this experience.

Well organised and an excellent guide! My son had a brilliant trip, filled with fun, learning, and new experiences. 

HNE planned experiences that 12 and 13 year old could understand and enjoy: cacao farms, pineapple farms, zip lines and more. They also did some service projects that the life’s really enjoyed. 

Costa Rica 2022

Excellent experience. All of our questions were quickly answered, they did everything required to accommodate the guidelines put in place by our school district. My student had a once in a lifetime experience thanks to you!

Mi hija estuvo muy contenta en el viaje, le encanto la comida y poder ayudar en la cocina.

I had a good time on the 6th grade trip.  It was harder than I expected it to be because the hike had more rugged terrain and the walk to the restaurant up to the restaurant was harder than expected.  I wouldn't change anything, I would let people know. I think it would also be a good idea to inform people that in the morning and at night it is very cold so they should bring warm clothing and sweatshirts.  The showers are freezing, so I am glad that I brought baby-wipes because it was my main cleaning sources.  I am glad I brought bug repellant because there were a lot of bugs.  The food was really really good.  I especially liked the fish.  I liked learning how to make jam and cheese because it was very tasty.  I think next year they should improve the tents because we were getting bug bites inside at night. I liked that we had another place to put our bags.  The cabin situation was good for people who hadn't slept outdoors before. I wish we had more time to spend with the people in Yungilla - an activity to interact.

Cotopaxi 6th Grade Trip

It was a great time because all of the activities were fun and I learned a lot of new things.  Although it rained every night, the camping was good because the tents were very waterproof and none of our stuff got wet.  The food was great.  I especially liked that there were local foods to try.  I wish there was a little more break time because we did a lot of work throughout the day and we were exhausted.  I think all of the activities were good (leadership, the river, service learning), but I would have liked to see more of the area and the culture of the Tsa'chilla.
