A tour to Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca, is one of the most sought-after experiences for visitors to Cusco . This stunning natural attraction, located at over 5,000 meters above sea level, is renowned for its multicolored bands formed by minerals, making it a truly unique place in the world. It is one of Peru's top tourist destinations and can be visited on a full-day tour from Cusco. The adventure begins early with pick-up from hotels in the historic center, followed by a trip to Cusipata, where travelers enjoy an Andean breakfast. Your adventure starts early. Our team will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco's historic center between 4:00 and 5:00 am. We'll depart south through the valley towards the town of Cusipata, one of the easiest routes to Rainbow Mountain.

After approximately 2 hours of travel, we arrive in Cusipata. Here you will enjoy an energizing Andean breakfast with local options to fuel up before starting the hike to Vinicunca.

From Cusipata, we travel by transport to the community of Chillihuani, the starting point of the trek. The hike is 7 km round trip, at an altitude of over 4,600 meters above sea level, and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with a moderate ascent. During the trek, you may see llamas, alpacas, and high Andean landscapes.
