Wake up is at 5am, a light breakfast is served at 5:30am and the track starts at 6am SHARP. Unless it is raining, then we will wait for the rain to stop.
Finding the gorillas can take anything from 10min to 3 hours depending on where their movements take them. They have large home ranges and can be affected by the movements of other gorilla families.
The terrain is relatively flat with a small section of deep valley.
After finding and viewing the gorillas, we take a leisurely walk back to camp where breakfast will be ready and waiting.
Afternoons are used to explore & find different creatures in the dry forest.
This is the time of day where the trackers will head back out(alone) to find the gorillas again to mark a GPS point as to where they bed down for the night.
This is the area that we head straight back to in the morning to start tracking from there.
