Setting off from your hotel of selection in San Jose, an A/C van/bus will be picked up to begin your city sightseeing. After a 30 minutes ride, you will arrive to San Jose Downtown, where you will visit the Art Museum; an incredible Costa Rican gem. Located inside of La Sabana Park at San Jose’s old airport facilities, the Art Museum features more than six thousand pieces of art in a variety of forms and mediums. Besides offering special rotating temporary exhibitions, this museum has permanent collections from famous Artists of Latin America, home to the most complete collection of Costa Rican art in the world.
Coming up next, the Central Market is an important cultural site in Costa Rica, as it is one of the most representative places in the capital. The market opened in 1880, making it one of the oldest landmarks in Costa Rica as the country declared independence in 1821. You will visit little shops, explore local artisan stalls, and learn about local traditions like herbal medicines.
At only 7 block, walking distance, you will arrive to the impressive National Theater.
Right after, you will head your way unto the Gold Museum, where you can step back through Time, Costa Rica's Numismatic and Pre-Columbian Gold Museum boasts one of the largest collections of gold artifacts in Latin America. These ancient objects chronicle the history of the tribal peoples and civilizations that once lived in the country.
The VIP city tour will not be completed without stopping at the National Monument. It is located in the middle of the National Park in San José, a very beautiful garden-like area with flowers, mature trees, statues of long forgotten dignitaries. There is huge imposing statue known as the National Monument of Costa Rica. This statue is The National Monument of Costa Rica. The statue depicts five ferocious looking women, ready to do battle. Each of the women represents one of the five Central American nations. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy a delicious typical lunch.
