We’re so excited to present our first annual Reading Retreat on the lovely Greek island of Amorgos, scheduled for six nights.
We have an amazing, fun-packed week booked for everyone joining us. Once here and settled in, you won’t want to leave as we also have guest authors Jonas Saul, Chris Colmenero, and Rania Stone.

- Transport to/from hotelBuses will be waiting to transport you to and from the hotel upon arrival and departure.

- Visit the Monastery11th-century monastery Hozoviotissa is a wonder that must be seen.
- Village Tour: ChoraThe ancient village of Chora is a magnificent sight to see, with its historic windmills still adorning the hillside.
- Greek dance lessonDuring one evening of your stay, the hotel will have live Greek music, and staff will be on site to teach Greek dancing to whoever wants to learn some new steps.
- Greek NightGreek music, Greek food, and a wonderful Greek good time takes place on Greek Night.
- Attendance at Q&AAll retreat attendees are welcome to come chat with the guest authors. Have your questions ready!
- Retreat materialsAttendees will be given a gift bag of fun and exciting things related to the retreat.
- Village hikeWe take you from the village of Tholaria across a mountain path to the neighboring village called Lagada for a picturesque walk.
- Free use of yoga ShalasThere are several yoga shalas on site for any of the attendees to use.
- Flights to/from GreeceAttendees must find their own way to and from Greece.
- Ferry ticketsBlue Star Ferries offers tickets online. Please plan ahead and get your tickets to Amorgos before the retreat begins on June 6th, 2024, and for when the retreat is over.
- Refreshments, BeveragesThe one thing your fee does not cover are beverages - except those offered during the buffets. Outside of the buffets, all beverages can be charged to your room and settled up upon check-out.
- AlcoholAs noted above, all alcohol (even during buffets) can be charged to your room and settled up later.
- Travel InsurancePlease investigate what travel insurance works best for you, if needed.
- Hotel Tax FeeThere may be a small fee of a few euros when checking out to cover the hotel tax fee the Greek government imposes upon hotels.
- ETIAS Visa"European Travel Information and Authorization System." Everyone must obtain a Visa prior to entering Europe. Apply online. Cost: 7 euros. Approval is usually within minutes and it's good for 3 years.
Available Packages
Most of the apartment-style rooms can accommodate anywhere from two to four people. There's a bedroom and a second seating/sleeping room with a kitchenette overlooking the sea, the garden, or the swimming pool. Each apartment has its own unique design.

Itinerary
Upon your arrival to Amorgos, a hotel van (or bus) will be waiting to transfer you to the Lakki Village Hotel, where you can check in, rest, swim, or read.
