Discover some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Chilean high plateau (altiplano) starting from San Pedro de Atacama. We will visit the Tropic of Capricorn, the Atacameño village of Socaire, the spectacular Miscanti and Meñiques high-altitude lagoons, the reddish formations of Piedras Rojas, and Los Flamencos National Reserve, where we will explore Chaxa Lagoon and its surrounding salt flats.

06:00 AM – We will begin the excursion by picking you up from your accommodation within the urban area of ​​San Pedro de Atacama. From there, we will head toward the high plateau (altiplano), traveling through desert and mountain landscapes.

We will make a brief stop at the Tropic of Capricorn, one of the area's notable geographical landmarks. You will have time to take photos and enjoy the scenery before we continue our journey.

We will continue to Socaire, a small Atacameño village located near the Andes Mountains. Along the way, we will be able to appreciate the changing landscape as we gain altitude.

We will arrive at the high-altitude lagoons area to visit the Miscanti and Meñiques lagoons, which are surrounded by mountains and volcanoes, creating a spectacular high-altitude landscape.

Next, we will head to the Piedras Rojas area, renowned for its reddish and copper-hued rock formations.

Our final stop will be Chaxa Lagoon, located within Los Flamencos National Reserve. This site is notable for its salt flat landscapes and as a place where one can observe various species of flamingos and other birds associated with high-Andean environments.

After completing our tour, we will begin the return journey to San Pedro de Atacama, where the excursion concludes.
