ARRIVAL Thursday, November 13
3:00PM: Check into this gorgeous, Victorian Hotel and get comfortable. This picturesque hotel is outfitted with a beautiful gift shop, huge outdoor patios, gardens, a luxurious spa, and a refreshing swimming pool. Make yourself at home.
5:30PM: Join us for welcome drinks on the verandah of The Martha Washington Inn at 6 pm. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a relaxed dinner keynoted by Father James Altman, author of the new book, 'Truth At Last'.
8:00 AM: Begin the day with a private Mass in the Inn, followed by breakfast .
9:30AM: We'll spend the morning hiking the famous Virginia Creeper trail, followed by lunch at the historic 18th century Tavern in Abingdon.
Friday afternoon is free for our Travelers to explore Abingdon's brick sidewalks and lovely shops -- or simply to relax at The Martha's pool and spa.
6:00PM: After an early dinner at The Sisters pub at The Martha, we'll cross the road for an evening at The Barter Theater, America's oldest-running community theater.
9:00AM: After breakfast at The Martha, we'll depart by private coach for The Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, VA. An affiliate of the Smithsonian, the museum tells the story of the 1927 Bristol Sessions, the influential recordings that sparked the big bang of country music.
1:00PM: A leisurely lunch followed by wine tasting at Nicewonder Vineyards is on our menu for the early afternoon, after which our coach will return us to The Martha.
6:00PM: Our final evening's dinner will be preceded by libations at the Summers rooftop bar.
8:30 AM Private Mass at The Martha
We'll follow that with our farewell breakfast. Checkout is at 11 am.
Of course, the Martha's many spa amenities will be available for our guests to enjoy afterwards, as well.
