About this trip

Calling ALL creatives! Ready to own yourself as a writer, establish a writing practice for yourself, and see how easily you can use writing as self-care? Ready to claim your adventure through traveling and writing with a collective of other cool folks?

If your answer is YES, then join Chasing Story and certified writing teacher/Amherst Artists & Writers instructor Tara Zinger for 8 creative days and 7 inspirational nights in Marrakesh, Morocco. This unforgettable retreat is sure to light your writing flame!

Through Writing, Travel, and the Thread of Human Connection, on this retreat you will:

*Awaken the lifelong learner in you by exploring our magical, storied, jaw-dropping world.

*Develop and prioritize a soul-feeding writing practice specific to you.

*Connect to your authentic voice and OWN your ability to activate it.

*Learn, laugh, and live along the way!

Whether you already have an established writing practice or you have yet to find yours, there is a place for you here!

How our method works

 1) We get you writing and get you growing.

Our itineraries carve out time for you to write and share your work during daily Amherst Method Writing Workshops. Whether you already have an established writing practice or you have yet to find yours, there is a place for you here!

Our certified instructors are grounded in the principles that:

*All people are all writers.

*All people all have a unique voice.

*All voices are equal.

Each day you will create original content and share it with others. At the end of each and every writing workshop, you will know:

*What’s strong.

*What works.

*What stays with us.

In other words, our writing workshops give you the time to activate your authentic voice in a supportive environment and encourage you to keep doing it!

But maybe you think:

  • I’m not a writer.
  • I don’t have anything to say.
  • I’m too nervous to travel to faraway places.
  • Who am I to spend the money and the time on myself?

People. We hear you! But we also gotta tell you. Through our retreats you will come to understand:

*You are.

*You do.

*We gotchu.

*Who are you not to?

2) We painstakingly plan for you so you worry less and relax into your creativity more!

Using our worldwide network, we scout out the most inspiring, beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime locations to lift you out of your comfort zone and into your creative zone!

We then hand-craft itineraries that perfectly balance travel adventures, writing time, and “independent study” time.

We facilitate it all. You only have to take our lead, take it in, and let your creativity flourish.

3) We honor your commitment to yourself.

Our retreats  give you time and space to hear your thoughts, write your words, and activate your voice.

Work, family, friends, bills, commuting, e-mails, social media feeds, the dog…

Life is busy and it can feel nearly impossible to claim your own space. When you register for one of our retreats, you take a stand for yourself as a learner and a creative and stake a claim to the time you need to grow. We support you in doing so!

Who we are

In Chasing Story, you will find a talented team of adventurous creatives scouting out and amplifying story anywhere we can find it.  We believe when we travel and expose ourselves to new people, places, and things, we are on the fast track to growing as individuals.

A certified writing instructor and public school English teacher for 15 + years, Chasing Story's founder and lead instructor, Tara Zinger, believes all people are writers and all people have important stories to share.  She has witnessed first-hand the transformation writing can cause and has made it her lifelong commitment to help others come to activate their authentic voices. Leaning into her talents as a teacher and her Amherst Writers & Artists training, she founded Chasing Story to help you do the same.

About the writing

We get you writing and get you growing!

Our method supports writing across genres and we invite you to let inspiration guide you.

Truly, whether you already have an established writing practice or you have yet to find yours, there is a place for you here!
