Twice Daily Yoga + Meditation

Makayla Maniscalco is 500 RYT and is passionate about empowering others to find healing and inner peace through connection with self, others, and Mother Earth. After suffering from a severe car accident Makayla was brought to her mat to find physical relief and increase her quality of life. What she found was far beyond the physical as she gained new insight on the positive impact yoga and mediation had on her mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The compassion and connection accessible through yoga has given Makayla clarity and confidence to live out her life purpose of serving others to find the same connection in their lives. With a background in integrative health she has a deep understanding of the innate ability the body has to heal itself. She is on a mission to alchemize community spaces where others can learn, grow, and heal with one another. Located out of Denver, Colorado, Makayla wears the hats of yoga teacher, life coach, realtor, and dog mom. She invites her students to tap into their inner teacher. With a dynamic background of training, expect a mix of heat and softness as she encourages challenging, fun, and intentional movement that gets you out of your head and into your body.

60 Minute Balinese Massage

Balinese massage is a traditional Indonesian massage therapy that originates from the island of Bali. Known for its unique combination of gentle stretches, acupressure, and aromatherapy, Balinese massage offers a holistic approach to relaxation and well-being. Therapists use a variety of techniques, including kneading, rolling, and thumb pressure, to stimulate energy flow and release tension in the muscles.

Sacred Water Healing Ceremony

The water healing ceremony or what we call “Melukat” is the Balinese traditions to purify and cleanse the negative energy from our body and soul.

Set your intention for this experience at the sacred water temple surrounded by ancient shrines and crystal clear water fed by natural springs. You will be cleansed and blessed in natural holy water. The Balinese believe that bathing in these waters is a very healing and spiritual experience. This will be the perfect opportunity for guests to set intentions for the rest of the journey and to release and let go of what is no longer serving you.

Tea Tasting + Rice Paddy Swing

After the Sacred Water Healing Ceremony, guests will then have lunch at the amazing Tegallang Rice Terraces as they overlook the breath-taking scenery. Then a swing to freedom out over the rice fields following by some tea tasting with the Luwak Kopi makers. The Luwak Kopi (coffee) is considered a delicacy among avid coffee enthusiasts. Luwak can be purchased separately if desired.

Sea Salt Farmer to Beach Cleanup

Bali is one of the most famous tourist destinations, it has the most beautiful beaches and shorelines but one of the biggest challenges is ocean trash which still can't be solved until now. To learn deeply about the challenges we will visit a salt community farm in the southern part of Bali, this salt farmer has already been here for hundreds of years and continue from generation to generation. Here we will learn about their way of making a living from the salt and their challenge from the ocean trash, also we will see how they produce the salt in a traditional way and help them to clean up the beach area.

Optional ($) Traditional Rock Pools

Positioned at the base of the valley mere meters away from the natural splendor of the river flow, the space is dedicated to the therapeutic properties of water. Enjoy a relaxing soak in hot pools set in the mythical stone cavern of Tjampuhan Resort. Make use of the hot & cold whirlpool baths, sauna and steam room and admire the impressive stone carvings and the valley below. You can spend as long as you want here. This tranquil setting evokes inner peace and overall wellness simply by re-introducing the basic attributes of Mother Nature and her bounty of herbal and flower essences.

Optional ($) Balinese Cooking Class

An Original Balinese Cooking Class in Ubud Bali, offers you an opportunity to learn how to cook real Balinese food with local ingredient, with skilled and friendly chef Putu.

Our lovely chef Putu emphasizes a friendly teaching style centered on actually doing, rather than watching. She guarantees that by the time you complete the activity you will not only have learned a thing or two about Balinese cooking but will also have had a most memorable experience. It is set in a traditional Balinese village home where she and her extended family lives. Here guests get to channel their inner chef as they learn how to cook an assortment of delicious Balinese dishes. Then you get to enjoy these culinary delights for lunch!

Vegan and Vegetarian available.

Optional ($) Bali Fire Dance

Kecak Dance Performance, set at the beautiful Pura Dalem Temple in Ubud, Kecak also known as the Bali Fire dance.
The dance narrates the story of Asia’s most famous epic, Ramayana. Although originally from India this story has since spread to every corner of Asia, in particular, South East Asia through the same channel as Hindu and Buddhist teachings. In Bali, the Ramayana story has become part of the cultural life and religious and moral teachings since the Hindu teachings came to the island around 100 BC. This fascinating dance show is a wonderful way to learn about the traditions of Bali.

Optional ($)Mala Bead Workshop

Get the creative juice flowing as you make your own mala necklace. Malas — also known as yoga beads or japamalas — are necklaces that usually have 108 beads. Mala, Sanskrit for “garland, ” is often used to enhance spiritual practice. You may see people use malas while practicing yoga and meditation. Mala beads have been around for thousands of years, created in India over 3,000 years ago.

They are rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism and are meant to help you focus your mind during meditation. Mala beads traditionally have 108 beads. The number is often described as the numerical equivalent of “Om, ” one of the most important spiritual sounds in meditation. The largest bead, in the center, is known as the guru. It is said to hold the energy generated during your practice. It's believed they can help heal the body, bring the mind into a quiet mood and increase clarity. Make a wonderful special + spiritual gift for you or someone special!

Our women’s retreat in Joshua Tree was pure soul medicine. Surrounded by 10 incredible women, we laughed, cried, and shared stories, cultivating deep connection and reflection. We moved our bodies with yoga, hiked through stunning landscapes, and even pushed ourselves with rock climbing! Dressing up for a photoshoot in the desert was pure magic, and we did a cold plunge together in the cold wind—which was both crazy and invigorating! Every meal from our amazing chef was so nourishing and delicious. The whole experience was the perfect blend of adventure, healing, and sisterhood! Thank you Ashley and Sadie!

I’ve attended 6 other retreats, so I came in with certain expectations, and overall, this one had a lot of positives, but there were also significant disappointments. First, the people and the classes were fantastic. Heather, Ashley, and the community that gathered were exactly what I hoped for – warm, engaging, and inspiring. The Booty Luv and yoga sessions were well-run, and the group dynamic was lovely. Conversations flowed easily, and I definitely left with a sense of connection. However, I was let down by the venue, which really didn't match the caliber of the experience I was expecting. The meal service was a major issue. Waiting anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes for lukewarm food was frustrating, especially in a retreat setting where the supposedly have done this before. Waiting over 45 minutes for a drink to be delivered was common – if I could even get someone to take my order. For the long waits, it would’ve been nice to have something simple like chips and salsa available to tide us over. I found myself eating a snack before meals just to avoid getting hangry. The rooms also didn’t provide the ambiance I anticipated. They felt very generic – like a room you could find anywhere, with no real connection to the Costa Rica or the area. The yoga shala lacked any pretty views or aesthetic charm that I’ve come to expect from retreats, especially those at BL locations. As for the location itself, I didn’t feel like I got the Costa Rican experience I was hoping for. Unless you’re a surfer, Playa Grande isn’t much to explore. The beach had no shade or umbrellas, and while you could walk along it, it was too hot to do so during the day, where morning/evening walks often conflicting with class schedules. The town didn’t offer much in terms of places to visit either. I ended up taking a day trip to Tamarindo, which had a much better vibe. I didn't care for retreat schedule being different every day. While I understand that adjustments happen, I didn’t love that the times for meals, classes, and activities were different every day, except for the 4pm class. It made me feel like I had to stay glued to my phone for updates or find the schudule. Plus, getting up early for class and then having to wait until 9am or later for breakfast was difficult. I found myself eating a snack first thing in the morning because I was starving. For the extra expense and travel hassle to get to Costa Rica, the location didn’t deliver the experience I expected. Overall, I loved the people and the classes but would not return to Playa Grande or the Rip Jack Inn.

Another amazing Booty Luv retreat in the books! The location was fantastic, steps from the beach with ample pools and hammocks to lounge in. The movement classes were excellent, with plenty of booty break downs and opportunities to go deep in yoga. And, an extra special group of ladies creating a supportive and inspiring community for each of us to immerse ourselves in for 6 glorious days together. Thank you to Heather, Kate, and Ashley for being our guru's and ensuring we were well taken care of!

I had a fantastic time! Travel to and from the airport went perfectly. The additional activities/excursions were amazing and Kate’s local guides were absolutely incredible. A trip organizers and instructors went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of and that we had an unforgettable time!

Nicaragua is beautiful! I highly recommend visiting this part of the world. It's small, it's local, it's quaint. Ashley is absolutely amazing at being a gifted yoga instructor. 10/10 would participate in another travel yoga retreat with her. My one thing: watch what you eat if you have a weak stomach, such as street food.

I can’t say enough about my wonderful experience with Kate, Ashley, Lorenzo and the whole staff at Room to Roam! This trip was truly magical. I was a little nervous to travel for the first time since COVID. Kate took such great care ushering me in to Nicaragua. I was very stressed at home prior to leaving and Kate kept taking things off my plate as I prepared to leave. Upon arrival we were greeted so warmly by the staff. I was instantly relaxed. Marco’s truly does make the BEST passion fruit margarita on the planet! My intention was surf and boy did I fall back in love with surfing, but I am really walking away with so much more- a complete reboot for my body, mind and soul! I’ll be back again soon! PS the food is out of the this world! Every single meal…. Mouth watering!
