On May 12th, you will land at Alejandro Velasco Astete Cusco International Airport. Bienvenidos! Welcome! The hard part is over! We will meet you at the prearranged transportation pickup point and take your bags. You are officially on a wellness vacation from this moment on. 

After a 75 minute drive and lunch, we'll arrive at Willka T'ika, your luxury home for the week. 

Once everyone is settled into their rooms, we'll reconvene for coca tea, orientation, and our first organic vegetarian dinner. After dinner, we will be treated to a traditional Peruvian Cacao Ceremony to welcome us to the Sacred Valley.

As always, you have choices....

After a hearty vegetarian breakfast, we will slowly start the day by gathering in the yoga shala for our first journey through the elements with some easy, grounding yoga and a wheel meditation with sound bowls. Bring your crystals & cards for prayers and our first welcoming circle. 

Afterward, we will move through the 7 Chakras Gardens together and settle into our earthy surroundings with our journals and Mother Nature. 

Lunch options are on the grounds(included) or just a tuk-tuk ride away in the town of Urubamba..hit a restaurant.(not included but maybe more fun) or the large local mercado for fruits, snacks, and anything else your heart desires.

Tonight, we will round out our day with a performance by Andean Musicians. Just try not to dance.....

May 15th is a day full of options because each day, you have choices!

Today is a toss-up between the market town of Pisaq, the Pisaq Ruins, or relaxing at Willka T'ika. Not everyone will acclimate at the same rate and relaxing may be preferred over walking. 

If you are ready to immerse yourself, we will take the 45 minute drive to "the photographer's dream", Pisaq, and spend a few hours shopping, bartering, and having lunch or coffee in the square. For the non-shoppers, the Pisaq Ruins gate is a short walk from the market and folks can follow the well-worn paths through this immense site. 

If you're not ready for the hustle and bustle of the market yet, opt for a massage. Read a book. Meditate in the gardens. Sip coca tea to adjust to the altitude. Enjoy the day in the Sacred Valley your way.

What experience is on your list today?

We'll start the morning with mantra and chanting prior to breakfast if the ethers move you to be up early. Then there's yoga after breakfast and meditation in the gardens. 

If you are looking to be in the mountains today, you'll have another chance. We will pile into our transportation for a 1 hour drive to Lares Hot Springs and trail head. We'll float in the medicinal waters, have lunch and some folks might hike. Choices! Choices!

We'll wind down by the fire tonight with a cup coca tea or maybe even a glass of wine.

Maras, and Ollantaytambo are beautiful ancient places. 

After a hearty breakfast, hikers that feel acclimated, will lace up their boots and head out for a 4 hour roundtrip hike to and from the Maras Salt Flats. You can see first-hand how local peoples have been harvesting salt from the Andes for over a thousand years. Bring a little cash for a snack and to bag some salts to take home for cooking and to make bady scrubs. 

And! For the non-hikers, we will gather in the lobby and await our chariot for a 1/2 day excursion to Maras & the ruins of Ollantaytambo. 

Tonight is a great night to book yourself into one of Willka T'ika's 7 solar heated, salt and herb baths.

How can we connect a little more?

This morning we will complete the 2nd of our wheel journey meditations. After 5 days of experiences, we'll stitch it all together by focusing our energies toward manifestation and creation..Afterward would be a perfect time to schedule a coca tea leaf reading or a one-on-one, healing ceremony with a shaman. 

This afternoon, we're being treated to a cookout, Quechua style. We're going to help create a pit-cooked feast, covering hot stones with local foods and vegetables. While everything cooks, we'll make and try the Pisco, the traditional Peruvian beverage enjoyed at celebrations.

This evening is a perfect opportunity to try a solar-heated salt bath under the stars. 

For those that chose this add-on excursion at booking and for whom setting foot on the sacred grounds of Machu Picchu has been a lifelong dream, today is your day. 

After an early breakfast, our group will be met by our private tour leader and educator and we will be transported to the train station at Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, the train will wind through the Andean countryside and drop the group in the small town of Aguas Caliente where everyone will catch the shuttle to Machu Picchu. For the next four hours, our private guide and educator will walk us through the massive ruins allowing for plenty of time to explore. Afterward, folks will be transported back to Aguas Caliente where they will find lunch(not included) before returning to the train for Ollantaytambo and Willka T'ika by dinner time.

As a reminder, this package must be purchased as an add-on while booking your retreat. For those not interested in visiting the ruins today, book yourself a horseback ride, hike, treat yourself to one of the many spa services, or enjoy some time in the reading room by the fire. 

Tonight, we will wrap up our journey together around the fire or in the cozy music shala.

Today is the day we part ways. If you are transferring to the airport, you will leave Willka T'ika early enough to arrive at the airport 3.5 hours ahead of your flight time. Make sure you book a flight after 12pm. 

Some of you may opt to book a hiking trip or decide to stay on and tour Cusco City. You will just need to let us know where transportation will be taking you.
